It took me a while to appreciate Princeton, and now I do. Ambiance can be tweaked to so it isn't so bright - start with the hi-damping at the minimum setting. I think it has very smooth tails. It suffers from boredom more than anything - it's so smooth. The Princeton has a bit of wiggle to it - the first clump of early refelections are a bit like a diffused slap echo. It then ramps up and then fades away, and I think it's think Inverse sort of shape that makes it sound good (at least until the tail kicks, which isn't so nice). I like ArtsAcoustic for the inverse ability. Actually, Two ArtsAcoustic together could do a similar effect - one for diffused early reflection, and the other ramping up and then decaying on the tail. You can add echo to give that modulated sproing - oing - oing. Actually, what might be considered a defect in the Princeton probably catches your ear and saves it from being boring. I've experimented with tremolos on reverb tails to get a similar effect - tempo sync'd can be interesting.

You didn't have a selection for those who didn't like the plugin.

I simply didn't like how it sounded.

Oh yeah. I was making a comparison! Ambience may not be good but it is for all intents, free. Princton is like $200. They MUST have been kidding.

Anyway, reverb is such a subjective thing. :D

And I for one, don't like the 'static' nature of impulse reverbs.

Give me CSR. The first one that to me actually sounds much like an AMS (or Lexicon 480L)even in the demo.

What is CSR?

No it's worse than that ... it's IK vapour ware - for $400 and a dongle. Screw that. Buy a hardware unit.

It's hardly 'vaporware'. Its incorporated into the new Miroslav Philharmonik and will be available, you can be sure, shortly after that comes out.

Go buy a hardware unit? Are you kidding?

Don't know about how flush you chaps are here, but I can't ever swing an $8000 reverb unit!

CSR is not going to be another cheesy reverb plugin.

I am familiar with the sound of the Lex 480L (I used to be able to rent one quite cheaply but alas, no more).

The CSR is the first plugin that matches that quality of reverb closely.

It's going to impress alot of people who think they need another lame impulse reverb.

MSRP is supposed to be about $299. esoundz members I'm sure wiil get a great deal on it.

you should have included the 'I had the money but I spent it on a hooker and ramen noodles' option :?

No need to spend $8000 - $200 buys the new Lexicon MX200 hardware reverb that has a VST plugin programming interface. Haven't heard it yet, but speculation is that is sounds way better than any VST.

Nexussynth, how familiar are you with CSR? Are you a tester? Do you work for IK, or SR? I'm holding off on judgement about Amplitube 2 and CSR (which is a corporate euphamism for Customer Service Representative BTW, so I hate the name), until I hear them. But you if you have some first hand info, I'm curious.
I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.

I didn't spend time programming it. I found the presets metallic and harsh and any effect that uses a third or more of my CPU...[flushing sound].
Here is my small version:
