not sure it's a host or a synth,it's a synth,it's a tracker,it loads samples and it's free.hurray!

(and it's got a good manual,easy-peasy)

you gotta have a pretty old soundcard to run it though.. did you get it working?

buzz, http://www.buzzmachines.com/

is all the same, doesn't rely on a uh.. SB16?, is very smooth even on very old comps and does lots of fun things with its tons of provided modules. I always dreamt of being able to program a delay in tracker style :D

yeah I know about buzz, I just wanted to use this for nostalic value, I used the DOS version alot. Maybe I can get the dos version to run in DosBox.

well i did a little song on my win98se,audigy2,i didn't try it on XP.i know there's better stuff out there,it was just a nostalgia thing for me too,it didn't crash once and there was no install to mess with your system.i didn't have to run it in dos either, just worked straight out the box,oh,well, might float someones boat.

works on xp/audigy
I tried it many years ago, nice synth.

I just got all excited seeing this synth again. I absolutely loved it and was so sad that it just wouldn't work with anything. I would have owned a whole PC for this I loved it that much.

Instead I got Probe that I also still love but can't really use for the same reasons.

Interesting that you say AXS will work with Audiophile on XP as that's what I have. Hmmmmmmmmm

oldschool! does anyone remember in which year the first dos version was released?
aka rktic. demoscener (Farbrausch, Holon, MFX, Still), sound designer, ux-dude, sth @AudioRealism, human synthesizer—not necessarily in that order.
