Just thought I'd balance out the rather negative "Is Rhino dead" thread, and add my (not inconsiderable) weight to the "OH NO IT ISN'T!" crowd.
I still love Rhino just as much as I did when i bought version 1.0. It's had one or two very significant (and free!) updates since then, but I can't see how it could be enhanced any further. Every new bank by Daniel extends Rhino's usefulness and he's still inspired by it's possibilities.
And ttoz loves it so much he's bought it several times over! :hihi:

----I just bought Motion's license for it from the forums here, and I can tell I'm gonna use it a lot. Such a sound, you really have to hear it for yourself to appreciate the quality and usefulness of the Rhino synth. It's one of those synths that you'd pay for upgrades for, and you eventually break down and buy some of the great 3rd party preset packs for :hihi:

Certainly not dead by along way! I think its just peaked feature wise. Its one of the most capable synths out there short of anything fully modular, and sounds supreme. Its now at its most fertile.

Maybe a Hippo or Elephant will come along next :)

I love my Rhino   ! It's inspirational and.. uhh.. erm.. was a better purchase than my Motif Es Rack   !!!!

Rhino forever! :hihi: :D

hey ttoz, want to donate them to a good cause?

i own rhino and all daniel's banks

the lad i make music with owns no rhino at all

the only stumbling block sharing projects back n' forth - he was an SX user also, and he bought most of the plugins that i frequently use in projects... however he never got around to Rhino and he's lost his job and there's now no Rhino in his future

we will trade you some mediocre piano songs in return :) you can do your own versions, record your clients playing our songs, whatever you want :hihi:

sounds waaay more than fair to me, in fact sounds outright crazy

which is why i'm hoping you'll bite :)

Rhino is as dead as my Prophet 5, by which I mean not dead at all. Both are fine instruments as they are now - one a softsynth with a lot of flexibility, one a 20+ year old piece of hardward that still has a beautiful sound. Besides, life is in the player, not the instrument.

Cheers,
envoy
