My latest track, done in energyXT:

Critter
Some kind of ambient/alien ethno/experimental/whatever deal.

Just had a track called Nyquist Ditty released as a free to download MP3 via Sheffield, UK based Audiobulb (www.audiobulb.com). It's my contribution to their interesting project Root Of Sine which is based on deriving pieces of music from nothing but a 1 second sample of a 440Hz sine wave. Check their Projects page for more.

The track is here.

I used nothing but Short Circuit hosted in EnergyXT and a touch of some reverb or other. Basic set up was a couple of MIDI part comps each containing a bunch of individual parts. These were grouped by trigger note and/or mute group and the various parts were directed to different output ports some of which fed into arpeggiators on their merry way. It all reconvened at the input to Short Circuit where I'd loaded and manipulated around 20 instances of the source sine wave. Eight outputs from Short Circuit fed into a CC mapped mixer comp with one send to the reverb. Recorded via the Master Out comp and then a touch of post editing on the result.

I'm about to do a second track and may well use nothing but XT and its own sampler. I have to say that to me that makes a lot more sense as defining what an eXTtrack should be surely???

Cheers,

Inigo

This is my July contest entry here, at KVR Music Cafe.
I'm new to EnergyXT and this is the first song I've made with it.
It's also my first many things. :)

Hope you like it.

Walking Together(Song For Steve)

My second song finished (¿?) in EXT.
I have to sharpen my skills specially using automation as I am used to the FL way of auto assigning the automation, but I will get there soon :)
This song was conceived yesterday afternoon while taking my son Steve (Hence the name) for a walk in the park. He doesn`t walk yet, but he tries to get up and get going and it looks kindda funny. I started whistling this melody and he liked it a lot.
We got home and I opened EXT and loaded;
  • Albino
2 instances of Cameleon 5000. One for the paddish background and another for the bass.
Sytrus for the Jarre-like Plucks at the end ( I love those sounds!!!) Maybe next time I will open the Jöergenmaister FM synth
    Drumatic 3 for the drums.
I used the EXT EQs and some other free VSTs from voxengo, Digitalfishphones, and such.
I hope you enjoy it. Steve certainly does and that is a great step forward for me
Comments are welcome.
Germ.

EDIT; It seems the link is not working properly, so if it does not work for you you can go to www.kaosaxiom.com and check the tune in the music section in the "New Horizons" area.
Sorry for the incovenience.

my entry to this month's contest was done entirely with Ext (it's my only host :-) ) and made extensive use of freezing and rendering.
:-)

It's a dance number - house , with raspy synths

I thought i'd post some tracks i made with xt. It's maybe a little below the standard of the rest here, but i promise i will make better music from now on! It's all a learning curve, isn't it!

(the two/three in the bottom is not xt, but buzz)

ALso these pieces for chamber orchestras is made with the mozart music notation program running trough xt instead of the internal sequencer, using soundfonts.

Hi knoob,

I like that tune. Cool sounds. My wife likes it, too. So then it must be good.

Best wishes, FRitz

Hi scuzzphut,

I like your tune a lot. You said entirely made with eXT? Which synths did you use? Really good sounds. Good arrangement and mix.

Hi Fritz, thanks for listening :-)
I used 3 instances of Discovery (frozen or rendered) and one instance of ASynth for the low bass.
The drums are some breakbeats in the Ext sampler.

Hi scuzzphut,

that's interesting. Which version of Discovery did you use? It doesn't sound like my older one ...

version 2.2

to upgrade to 2.4 was going to cost me $50 and I didn't see the need.

v2.2 sounds fantastic already :D

Very original and absolutly fantastic!

Congrats! :)

If you care to elaborate on how you made the noise sounds (sounds pretty much sampled to me, or any synth-vst?) that would be entertaining for sure...
