I lie.
Having just checked, it says 'produced by Future Sound of London' in fancy writing in the corner.
The spine reads Amorphous Androgynous though, and that's what you see in the rack.
Def 2 diff projects to my mind.

It's a classic mock-up of the psychedelic era, done extremely well, and trippy as. 8)
Not heard of the otherness though - now I'm gonna have to go check it out without a doubt.

To compare Amorphous Androgenous with FSOL though is like comparing Dukes Of Stratosfear with XTC imo. Same bands, but totally different creatures.
Eh..Tales of Ephidrina, as Amorphous Androgynous, isnt THAT much different from Lifeforms.

I thought The Isness sucked btw.
Everything up til then kicked major ass.

it was pretty practical if you look at it. FSOL was the important name and they had been 7 years with no new albums...so it was more commercial to put the FSOL name on it. hence my disappointment, since I expected another kind of music. This was well done, but not my cup of tea.

(for psychedelic electronic music, I already have my dear beloved adored 'Legendary Pink Dots'.)

Interesting.
So The Mello Hippo Disco Show is the same album, with less tracks and different names for the ones that remain... :? Weird. What's the point in that? :hihi:

I'm pretty sure it was done out of commercial interests.

btw, have you ever listened to The Legendary Pink Dots or The Tear Garden? (both are related). Electronic psychedelic music, very very interesting, my all time favourite band, I recommend you.

FSOL and Amorphous Androgynous = Garry Cobain and Brian Dougans.

Amorphous Androgynous was them before Lifeforms and the change to FSOL.

Got the extended CD single version. Brilliant track.
Also got the Lifeforms extended CD single of the Lifeforms track - a magnificent 7 part, 39 minute version of that one track, that just carries you somewhere else entirely. Another fave in my collection. :D 8)

Oh I don't have that single. The only single I own is 'My Kingdom'. Does 'cascade' add anything interesting to Lifeforms then?

Yeah, I remember it coming out. I had it for a while, til it upped and went for a walk...
Was never that keen on it though. Different bag entirely to Isness, which is far superior imho. :)

Got My Kingdom as well. :) A nice 30 minute extension.
Lifeforms (with Liz Fraser) extended is totally fabulous - one of my fave after-hours tracks.

I've just had a look for the Cascade single but that too seems to have gone walkies. :?
Think I've got it on a mix-tape somewhere though, but yes, very good - in the same way as My Kingdom extended single. :D

Different to Isness, yes.
But Isness sux, imho.

Sorry, I just can't speak highly enough of that album, The Isness.

When I saw the thread title about it, I just had to come on in.

If you don't like it, I don't think you've heard it. :)

Heard, or seen? :p

Well, one point, the vocal stuff are pretty weak, and absolutely not to my taste.
