But i have indeed read somewhere that since apple is switching to intel cpus in the future logic will probably be ported to the win platform. The news made that look like it was set in stone but i wouldn't start saving money now at least.

Phew! That was claose. I mean there is no appreciable market share to be had on the PC compared to the huge existing Logic user base. :hihi:

There will be Logic for pc, almost. Apple Intel pcs that is. When OSX is hacked so that it will work on almost any pc (at the moment, Intel OSX requires a special chip to be detected before it will install), then maybe :)

It'll never be ported to PC unless Apple want it to. Just because Apple are going to be using Intel CPU's, that means nothing in relation to Logic 7.

I think more importantly.. why would you want logic on PC? Of course my opinions are purely subjective and i'm not trying to piss anybody off.. but man.. i really hate logic. It's a pain in the arse.. so by not having it on the pc you're not really missing out on anything? Oh all the pros use it? who cares.. hey just coz cindy crawford endorses omega watches i should go out and buy one? hell no. If someone is THAT obsessed with logic then they will convert themselves to the mac. Oh and if it's not worth ditching your pc for a mac just to run logic, then logic cant be that good can it. I've had the chance to use logic on a friends mac for a few months and compared to my setup it was unnecessarily overcomplicated. I know it has lots of features.. but i'm only trying to make a song here, not control the entire universe. anyways.. thats my thoughts :)

Logic 7 is fine where it is. They don't need to port it to an OS where microsoft's main focus is on gamers and not on creative professions.

It really is, I don't see microsoft doing anything to help audio producers that use windows machines...

where is microsoft's rip of Apple's Core Audio/Core MIDI?

I think people are confused. Apple wont port Logic to Windows but they will have to port it to Intel OSX because if you buy an Apple machine with an Intel processor, it will have to run all the apps that you can run on the power pc version. Apple will have to assume that Intel OSX wont run on a standard pc so they wont worry about converting it. Of course, as we speak hackers are figuring out a way to run Intel OSX on non Apple Intel boxes.

You might be interested in purchasing Magix Music Studio 10-which is based on Logic (same interface but uses its own file format) and I enjoy using it
