Well mebbe for let it be, he took George Martins role as the "glue". Get back wouldnt have been a song with out his rhodes playing...ross g wrote:i'm still reading thru these posts and i haven't made it thru the second essay, but even before i toss in my 2 pennies, i must say i agree completely... the more names one drops and historical senarios & such doesn't make an opinion correct... and George was a lousey guitarist? huh? (plus name a better song than "something") i've just begun in the last 5-7 years or so to really get the beatles and i'm glad i do...whatever...zappa said "writing about music is like dancing about architecture"clueless wrote:I'm working on the theory that this was written by someone starting from the premise of "I don't like the Beatles, and this is why I'm right".

and the same person who wrote this probably say davinci's over-rated 'cause Mona Lisa's boring and doesn't seem to be pushing any boundaries. The same person would also call Shakespear overrated and rate William Burroughs higher than Tolstoy... I mean there's nothing wrong with any of this, thinking anybody's over-rated or anybody else is under-rated or whatever... but the arguments given here is just ridiculous i don't really know how anybody can make any meaningful comment about that piece of shit somebody put out as an 'essay'...

Ahh what might have been- if the beatles had only recruited Tiny Tim to fill johns shoes after 1980...Landphil wrote:I thought it was Guns-n-Roses.

i use to teach undergrad students a while ago and if anybody handed me that kind of shit as an essay i'll just raise an eye brow and give it straight back with no comment - and those kinda kids would go back to tell all their mates that i'm an out-dated fool of a tutor who couldn't handle any 'alternative' views... this shit seriously piss me off man...
