Christian:

I'm really digging this plug! I liked the sound from the first release, and all the refinements have made this a very useful tool. Thanks for making this available.

I gotta ask though... what does posihfopit mean anyway?

There's nothing an agnostic can't do if he really doesn't know whether he believes in anything or not.

This is very cool, Christian. The shortcuts are a great addition.

One question, what's the difference between Robert Bristow-Johnson peak filters versus Prof. Orfanidis?

Spelled backwards it reads, "Tip of his Op"....my guess at an "op":post operation sex organ...how this related to equalization is anyone's guess...

okay see you in a week or two

P.S. I'm using a friends PC right now otherwise all you would se would be.....

werwoeuir9423805weoijfposihfopit or something alike
(my highlighting)
I saw those last 10 letters and thought it looked like a great plugin name. Christian has a plugin without a name. The two were married, however there has been a name change, so posihfopit might get used elsewhere!

Glad you all like it, Christian's been doing some superb work here!

Been playing with this more - a truly fantastic EQ plug.
Thanks again , Christian :-o

This EQ is really nice.

Danke schön, Christian.
Great work.

Seems that a lot happened
since the first post concerning posihfopit: ...
Hello all,

for the fun of it, i made an EQ plugin based on a broken lappy. It is basically a real EQ, but higher gain will result in a more craggy sound.

It's currently only mono, but if you like it, i will make an enhanced version out of it...
Cheers,
tl.

Yes, i know.

Btw. just done a smaller update. New features:

* Hi/LoShelf filters (use shortcuts H,L,P or mouse)
* 'linear' mode (previously 'soft clip' only)
* several bands can be combined (draw a rect)

There will also be a betabugs version soon.

Regards,

Christian

is it released yet? this new version?

They use different formulas for calculating the filter coefficients (Google will give more details )

I kind of guessed that, was wondering what the practical difference would be. (one is more processor efficient, the other results in sound A, etc). Not being a computer engineer, reading papers on filter algorithms doesn't generally explain how something sounds/works, only how it is implemented, to which I smile, nod and move on. :)

sorry, forgot the link: http://www.savioursofsoul.de/Christian/ ... hfopit.zip
It's up now.

One question, what's the difference bet ... Orfanidis?
RBJ has problems around nyquist (samplerate/2). Prof. Orfanidis calculation is more complex, but don't suffer this problems. So the sound of the upper highs is different. Nothing more.

btw my favorite preset is "surprise" ;)

Just finished skin support :-)
Look at the nice first screenshot with the army skin:

Could you combine both modes in the EQ? I'd be very interested in comparing them side by side.

Cheers!
