The above "words" are the ramblings of a depraved megalomaniac.Any similarity to normal communication is a hallucination on the part of the reader.Replying to this post will result in your family and posessions becoming the property of funkynuts.

If you find it there, let me know.

There is an organ cadence called "Amen", and there are some files called "Break", but nothing obvious.

you could also grab some hip hop midi files and just up the tempo

midi file of the amen break? what would you do with it?

Post

Without elaborating it any further, these kind of threads painfully show how badly beginners need some kind of glossary/FAQ of digital music and VST world and its standards.

Could this happen on KVR? It could be similar to plugin reviews, but there people who have X number of posts (like +500) could explain basic words that would eliminate these threads. One person could easily moderate it and make it easy to read. Did I say KVRpedia? well I did now.

It hurts to watch this kind of needless stumbling.

i use FL Studio and wouldnt know what to do with a midi file of a break. In fact, i dont even know how a break would be midi'd.

Is there some common software function that assigns midi files to certainsingle shots or something?

There are a few beat tutorials here, including the basic Amen. Its not quite right, but its close.

Hope it helps

@ Chase: you would use a standard drum map or midi clip (like the piano editor). Then you would have to use something like Battery (or FPC in FL) which would split the individual notes into certain sample slots.

EDIT: in the time it took me to type that it appears a whole conversation went by... sorry
