Bouncing instrument objects in Logic Express 7.1...

I wanted to know how to do this because I've got couple instances of Stylus open in my project and it's really eating up CPU.
In the reference manual, they mention a bounce button, but I can't find it.
They said that it's available for Output Objects 1 & 2. What are these?
Obviously, I'm a newbie to this, but any help would be great.

you might actually be looking for the "freeze" function - i'm not sure if it's available in express version or not but there should be a snowflake-icon on the arrange strips if it's available.
output objects 1&2 refer to your main outputs ie. the main mix bus. in the mixer output 1-2 channel strip there should be a bounce button with which you can bounce down whatever comes to the outputs.

LE7 definitely has a freeze function. I do wish there was an easy way to just render a track to audio though.

You have to have an output object in your environment, then add it to the arrange window. It will look like a track, same as instruments and audio objects. The bounce button appears at the bottom of the output track...

I don't have LE7 in front of me, but I believe that will bounce your whole edit down to an external audio file. What LE& is lacking is a way to bounce individual midi tracks down to audio from within the application, which I believe the Pro version can do.DHR53 wrote:You have to have an output object in your environment, then add it to the arrange window. I'm a bit rusty with LE7 details, but I remember asking this question of LE7 on a couple of forums and that was the consensus: it's a Pro feature.

It's on the output channel strip. Take a look at your mixer or the appropriate layer of the environment. I find it convenient to have a track with the output object in it, so that you can bounce in the Arrange window.Remedial wrote:In the reference manual, they mention a bounce button, but I can't find it.
This will bounce all tracks, but of course you can mute certain ones (cmd-click mutes all tracks, then unmute the ones you want to bounce).

Okay, I figured out how to create an output object. Now, how do I add it to the arrange window?TennesseeVic wrote:It's on the output channel strip. If you click on it in the environment, make sure that the Icon checkbox in the info panel on the left is checked. If that is the case, go to the Arrange window and just click-hold on a track name, and you can select the output.Remedial wrote:Okay, I figured out how to create an output object.
