well, I have a pair of cmc 6 2h mics. Now I just need a decent hall and a symphony to record.

I need a better acoustic guitar: it only cost me £40, but I spent £400 on the mic I use to record it..

I discovered homerecording.com while OSXaudio was off air, and learned a heap about the different mic brands etc from the mic forum there, worth a look if you're interested.

There was a post there from Blue, which they stated was the one and only time they would comment publicly about the Violet issue. If your interested it offers the other side of the story.

I'm using the Soundman OKM - II mics and I'm absolutely satisfied with them.
Their stereo strength is fantastic. You can hear them in action while listening to that sample @ the Freesound Project Site.

cool man.. ive always wanted to check out riga too, cheap flights from finland.. wicked idea to check out juris factory at the same time!

Rode NT-3 was the first mic I got - still one of the best mics I have too.

Another gem and dead cheap is the MXL 990, amazing value for money.

i use 2 condensers:

in winter: studio projects B1 - great value but suffers from climatic extremes - i don't use it during the rainy season or humid japanese summer,

anytime ok: seide pc-me - less prone to the above seasonal problems and seems less sensitive to higher frequencies, i prefer this for vocals.

both are budget mics, in keeping perhaps with my 'cottage industry' music.
