hey , is there any way i can upload files to kvr and post a link in the forums.
what is the best way to share files with other kvr ians. i see a lot of ppl posting short clips, midi files etc, in the forums.
any quick tips!!!!

If you don't need to upload mp3s and such, any free host will do.

Look for a site without ads and enough free space, check the reviews for speed and reliability. Maybe your internet connection came with free webspace?
If you wanna post mp3s of full tracks, try the Auditorium at http://audioshots.com/.
There are also webhosts that allow mp3s, like PanicNow and http://audioshots.com/

well i'm looking for something like www.sendthisfile.com or www.yousendit.com.. they r both hasslefree, but with limitaions like pick up period of 3 days and all...
is there any site where i can upload a file, get a link for it, be assured that it would be available for download by other users for a reasonable time perod.
audioshots is good, but i dont think i can use it only for uploading files. its forum based right?

Actually i was'nt looking for free webspace, with ftp acccount and all that. Neverthe less i tried registering with some hosts listed there, but i could never go too far. with Globalweb i finally managed to create the account but i still cant figure out how to upload files.cptgone wrote: josevin2000 wrote:

anything with simple registration and space of even 100 mb is more than enuf. in fact even 50 will do.[/quote]

At the Auditorium http://www.audioshots.com/auditorium/ there is no limit to the amount of files you can upload – as long as you direct people to your post (the thread you make) rather than as a direct link to the file you post, you can link to your thread in other forums for others to go to your thread and download the file from that – the difference between this and other sites is – the visitor to the site does not need to register to download the file you posted, nor does the visitor get bombarded with different types of adverts –and the visitor does not need to register to leave a comment in that thread either.

Uploading at the auditorium is easy as its done via your web browser over http, there is a support section in the auditorium that explains uploading to the auditorium in more detail.

For this though you would need an ftp program to upload files to the webspace in the correct directory for others to download, ftp programs start from free, more about ftp n http on this link

well spe3d, audioshots looks good enuf and really serves my purpose. in fact i see many kvr'ians also registered there.
but i guess i will have to look elsewhere to upload files for my non audio friends. coz audioshots requires u to share the link to the post and not to the file. and boy they will be really lost when they find themselves inside the forum.

Hi! josevin2000,
I can allways put you into your own forum (at the bottom of the Auditorium there are hidden and full view artist forums) your mates would not get lost then.
Failing that you could email your mates the link to the post - or - PM them - Or - use IRC etc.
