i know there was discussion about this a LONG time ago, not sure if it has come up recently but i wanted to ask about it.

does IK have any plans to release the rack of effects in ST2 as it's own effect plugin? i know we have amplitube and AT2 soon, but those dont feature some of the more bizarre ring mod, slicer, envelope flangers etc.

I've used the Waves effects a lot at school this year and to be honest, besides the RComp, Rverb and L1 i dislike them. they make the most basic effects into rocket science. Simple effects like Enigma or MondoMod dont need to have all those graphics/parameters to make them look fancy like the way they do it(yes we all love to impress our clients but that's overkill). i know it's a matter of taste but when i'm trying to get something to sound cool quickly, nothing beats the ST2 effects treatment. I'd like to see these effects on their own as it would make my life a lot more pleasant when working on music or films.

There is AT and TRacks, and CSR on the way, but I do like the the other effects a lot, they are my favorite built-in effects for any synth. A plug-in based on the 5-slot rack and those algorhthms would rock.

yep and between those three they cover ALOT of ground. T-Racks is great cause you have the option to split the different elements, say if you just need the compressor you can just throw that on the insert.

AT has the nice delay and stompboxes so i'm excited for the sequel which i got to try a bit of at the last namm.

a very long time ago squids ran a little Poll asking people if they'd like the ST effects in its own plugin vs. something else i cant remember

There is a workaround we can use in the mean time. Load your audio clip into Sampletank as a wav, and apply your effects,,,,I know it's not quite the same,,,

Did I hear someone whisper T Racks 2??

I don't have T Racks,,, anyone care to enlighten me? or is that way OT??

A plugin effect that mimicked ST2's effects section sure would be handy. Especially with the possibility to load and save presets, MIDI control, etc.

However, if you realise that ST2's effects section has the FULL algorithms from Amplitube and T-RackS, then you'll probably realise why we haven't seen a "ST2 effects" plugin.

As HG mentioned, you can always load your own recordings into SampleTank2 to process it with the effects. You can even do that with your whole mixdown so you can use the T-RackS eq, compression, and limiting. Of course you can go further and take advantage of tools like Stretch, polyphony, synth filters, envelopes, etc. Turn your audio recordings into instruments!

By the way, there are no (announced) plans for a successor to T-RackS.

I think T-Racks 1 has gone through a lot of updating and stuff to make it a product that doesnt need a "2" for a long time. the thing really bites and i love it for making a phat-ass mix. I am curious about a sequel as well but 1 will hold me over for ages. that product must be almost as old as sampletank 1?

i know you can load in wave clips into sampletank but that requires some extra steps that i'm not always willing to do. you have to place midi notes down after you load the sound in and stuff. but you are right kim, not only would you get the effects you'd get the filters, lfos and stuff which i enjoy tinkering. it has a lot of the algos from amplitube and t-racks but there are those extra ones like crusher or rotary or others that i mentioned above.

i know you can easily find simple effects like that for free out there, but these IK ones are done with a really nice quality and it's the rack that i'm looking for here. that convenient rack you know you want it kim.
