I'm getting the same thing on my Pentium 4. Like 75-80 percent in Podium with nothing else loaded or playing. I don't know the exact version number (not sure where to find it - no 'about posihfopit' box or the like) but I just downloaded and tested it before posting.

I've just tested it with my Pentium 4 2.0Ghz Notebook. 150s of audio @44100kHz; All modes (Classic/Linear, incl. efficient); Random Filter. Definatly no problems.
can you provide more details? (Host/Preset/Mode/etc.)

Butif everything fails, you don't need to buy this plugin.

Btw. I did exactly the same. Downloaded it on my Notebook from my own website and tested it with my plugin analyser. This does the process call and tracks the CPU Cycles.
No difference found between random input and silence.

But maybe you tweak the graphic engine a little bit (Display update->Medium). The GFX engine in direct mode takes a lot of CPU ressources, if available. Additionally the Auto-Calculation is very CPU hungry, although it is on a low priority. Usually the audio and anything else shouldn't suffer from that. Do you hear clicks, etc.?

Tested with energyXT, VSThost, Chainer(demo)

The following presets show this problem:
no EQ,Mexican Head,Uncle Sam,Dirdy Bass,Dirdy One,Fat Lady,empty User presets

Interesting: no CPU peaks in "Linear" during silence, the "Economy" setting has no effect on the CPU peaks during silence.

The "Display update" has no effect on the CPU peaks during silence.

Also, when I change preset and back to the "Linear" preset, the "Linear" mode is forgotten, it always reverts back to "Classic"

Hi Christian,

Thanks for the quick response. I'm using the most recent version of Podium (1.37) and the most recent version of posihfopit (1.05). All modes and presets indicate the same CPU usage (75-80 on Podium's CPU meter) while audio is not running through the plugin. Running a stereo 120Hz sine wave through it results in cpu usage from 6-10 percent, depending on the settings.

My system specifications :

P4 3.0 (Hyperthreading enabled), Asus P4P800 Deluxe (i865PE), 1024MB PC3200, Radeon 9600 Pro, Mackie Onyx Firewire ASIO, Windows XP (SP2)... Please let me know if you need more info.

There were not a lot of freeware EQ options before this, and you have my gratitude and appreciation for it! I've kept up with this thread since it started, and have marveled at the contributive cooperation and enthusiasm here. Warm fuzzies abound. :)

Regards
Brian

P.S. If all else fails, I'll understand. But I'll be pretty sad, boy howdy.

Just uploaded a new version. Fixed that bug, and changed the behaviour of the Classic mode.
Interesting: no CPU peaks in "Linear" during silence, the "Economy" setting has no effect on the CPU peaks during silence.
Please describe exactly, which Mode you mean.

Classic-Normal: Denormal-Bug
Classic-Economy: ? (probably bug too)
Linear-Normal: OK
Classic-Economy: ?

I have optimized DSP-Code for every single case to make the plugin faster, so it is important to tell me, what you've exactly tested.

Hey, I don´t see this "posihfopit" in my Cubase :x
In WaveLab there´s no problem
What´s the matter?!

No need to be rude. I can see the plug in Cubase SL3 and it works for me, try moving the plug into another dir in your VST folder or rename the current subdir and restart Cubase. Maybe that helps.

Hey Christian,

man, thanx a lot for this EQ! I just downloaded a newer version, the one I had before was a few days "old". Man, what improvements!
Thanx a lot for giving it away for free. It sounds really cool. I like it a lot. Best free EQ by far.

Just a few remarks. When I move a point onto the read out on the right top I can't grab it from there after releasing the mouse when moving that point up there.

It would be cool if the non used keys on the computer keyboard wouldn't get occupied when posihfopit has focus.
Again thanx a lot. :D

Best wishes, FRitz

Here's what I'm getting with the newly uploaded version, during silence:

Classic-Normal: OK when loaded, until a band is adjusted for the first time, then denormals after approximately 3 seconds.
Classic-Economy: Denormals, when loaded, after approximately 3 seconds.
Linear-Normal: OK
Linear-Economy: OK

Strange that I was getting it in all modes before, perhaps I was hallucinating? Thanks very much for this update.

Thanks for this, i've only had a little play with it so far - but it appears to be an excellent eq.

Newest uploaded version, on Celeron 2.4GHz:
Classic-Normal: Denormal-Bug + 5% higher CPU usage during play ( also Denormal-Bug ? )
Classic-Economy: Denormal-Bug + 5% higher CPU usage during play ( also Denormal-BUG ? )
Linear-Normal: OK, very low CPU usage
Classic-Economy: OK, very low CPU usage

Hi,

shortcuts are not working in Nuendo 2.2.
