Then I would suggest: Steinberg The Grand. Or a refridgerator.
(It is actually really amaizing seeing you skipping into each thread and suggesting your crap. Even if it is not fitting to the question approximately. (A new stage of impertinent advertizing?) Have you dollars in your eyes or what? I think, that is quite equal to SPAMING what you perform now here.)

i like you space boy im afraid i kinda agree that you often throw out your stuff ( which granted is all great) a bit too much when people ask for stuff like so.smartass wrote:(It is actually really amaizing seeing you skipping into each thread and suggesting your crap. the best way to advertise is make a kick ass product then strip it down to minimum before release. slowly build it back up and advertise each new update

Depends on your budget. If you're serious, then there is only one choice imo - Melodyne! This program is amazing, truely. It will automatically chop a monophonic line into its rythmic events, then allow you to shift the pitch, time and formants of each event seperately. Im sure it also does much much more, I only had a quick noodle!
Very expensive, but worth a mention - there is an excellent shifter in the Waves Transform bundle. Probably not worth the case, but a nice plug none the less.
Some interesting pitch / formant plugs in the Hyperprism bundle. Use them in your sequencer / audio editor.

I thought the title of this thread was related to 'tone/pitch fx'. It is also in the effects forum. The author asked about something for manipulating chords and pitches in a sequence. I have to say, Choir Boy is exactly appropriate to this topic.smartass wrote:(It is actually really amaizing seeing you skipping into each thread and suggesting your crap. Now you might say, aha but he was really meaning something closer to a host application - then I would say that the question is in the wrong forum.
Now, since the guy is asking and doesn't appear to be sure what he/she wants, I point him to Choir Boy because it is a reasonable answer to a question placed in the effects forum about pitch shifting chords.
Please note that I also provide FREE plugins, Convo Boy, Wide Boy and Extra Boy, which I also suggest when and where appropriate.
Spamming, is the unsolicited widespread sending of email. I'm simply suggesting a possible solution, that I have developed, at my own expense, in relation to the asked question. Whereas others might suggest a solution costing $$$$. I'm suggesting a possible solution, that may be good enough, and that is almost free (relatively).
Now, smartass, what is your PRACTICAL suggestion to the author of this thread? At least my posting was closer to the topic than your posting.

i just bought choir boy, by the way. A few days ago, and am very happy with it. space boy's suggestion might not be a complete answer, as the question was also about chopping audio. However, regarding real-time pitch-shift and formant correction choir boy seems like the way to go - certainly at its price...

This is almost straight out of the Kontakt 2 print ad:ULONIX wrote:i need something to manipulate chords and drum sequences, cut them up, change tone/pitch of the sample.

Timelooper doesn't have as many functions but is easier to work with & much cheaper:

Short Circuit takes it further than either of them but may be over the top for you:

Finally, I'll add that while I don't think Melodyne would be the best option for this application, simply because it's not as good at cutting up drums as Kontakt 2 is, there's a plug-in version of it available for only $159:
