AmpliTube® UNO Now Available as a FREE Download from IK
FREE virtual amplifier to download
AmpliTube® Uno is a free, single amp and stand-alone application, designed to demonstrate the phenomenal quality and potential of the AmpliTube line of products. It includes the critically acclaimed crunch and distortion models from AmpliTube.
AmpliTube® UNO contains one amp and one distortion pedal effect. The distortion effect is modeled after an analog solid-state overdrive stomp box. This is a warm, rich and versatile overdrive pedal that can saturate itself and overdrive the amp as well. The Crunch Model is the same one offered in the full version of AmpliTube®. This model features an EQ stage with Lo, Mid and Hi tone control circuitry that recreates the authentic response of the modeled amp. It also features an input gain control and an overall output level control.

I use Norton Antivirus, CCleaner, Spyware Blaster, Spybot Search and Destroy, Ad-Aware SE, and the Maxthon browser shell all at the same time. I have things locked down pretty tight, so I'm probably not the right person to ask. I CAN say that I haven't had anything get to me yet.t-willy wrote:bump...anyone have any malware problems with any of the links in this thread?

with a tone that saturated, who could tell? I am not knocking your playing...because you can obviously play well....but this is not the type of tone I am talking about.
Can I hear an MP3 of something in style of SRV or Hendrix? Not too distorted but clean with a glassy tube sound.
This is where I feel that the guitar sims fall way short.

How about having a go at it yourself?seamoss wrote:Can I hear an MP3 of something in style of SRV or Hendrix? Not too distorted but clean with a glassy tube sound.
Seriously, I think any *real* guitar player could spot subtle differences between the real thing and a simulation, even a very good one. But the question is, do these little differences make the product unusable in the context of musical creativity?
Bad writing kills more tracks than any amp sim *ever* will.

I don't disagree with anything that you said. In fact, I think you are totally right.kilroy wrote:How about having a go at it yourself?seamoss wrote:Can I hear an MP3 of something in style of SRV or Hendrix? Not too distorted but clean with a glassy tube sound.

I still think, though, that the amp sims that are currently out are unable to create an authentic tube tone.
Maybe one day they will.....and I look forward to the day that they do.
