Squids? Oh... wait, that's me. ;)

Peppy has a scar from ear to eeeeear. (NTB)

SampleTank 2.1? End of the Summer. It's practically done though and it rocks. I use it all the time (not that you want to hear that... or maybe you do because it is pretty solid!). I'll do new videos for it soon. The new engines are just great. The note and phrase modes of Stretch are really cool. LFO sync to tempo, the double output amount... it'll be here soon. Got some new "oh babies" in there too as well as some cool instrument phrases that work well with stretch... fiddles, saxes, slide guitars... I'll show you all very soon.

AT2 in the early Fall is my guess but you never know. I raved about it in another post and the energy tires me out I love it so much. To me if there was ever a no-brainer piece of software to get it is AT2 and Ampeg. But, that's just me (and almost every musician I know personally ;) ).

Squids-
Very loyal ST2XL and SS2 user here. Love the products and am sure the 2.1 upgrade will rock. Been waiting for SS 2.1 since it was first announced. I check the IK site every day.

It would be nice if you would at least toss your fans a snippet of news on the site every now and again regarding the changes in release dates.

We all want it to be great and bug free, and delays are a part of the process. But let us know so that we don't drive our local distributors nuts (like I have) trying to pre-order updates that don't exist yet.

I'm particularly paranoid that I might miss an upgrade deadline for special pricing for the new sound libraries.

Thanks for listening. Now get back to work and finish it!

I like your sig man. Word. We're very proud when we make into your signatures. Don't think we don't notice guys. Thanks for the props. It shows you have good taste too. ;)

SS 2.1 was not announced although you can imagine that some time after ST2.1 is released that SS2 will get an update on the engine side.

Even though SR is involved in making some of the sounds and programming on ST2.1 it is IK Multimedia's site that would have the information you are requesting. I will suggest that updates are made on expected release schedules. I don't have control over that though.

I do have control over esoundz giving some general updates though but then it is better to even have talk about it here where you can directly ask me and I can give a daily update if you want (more or less). Although it is usually "coming soon". However, it really IS coming soon in this particular case of ST2.1 So, my guess (unofficially) is ST2.1 in August/Sept and AT2 in Sept/Oct. However, it can be sooner or later. Not much later though if it was. FWIW I do have a pre-release version of both and they ARE incredible and very REAL.

Question, I know I qualify for the 2.1 update for the engine...I know I can download it. What I don't know is will I need to order the sounds or will they ship to me automatically.

(I am a SonikTank Group Buyer w/ $99 upgrade to XL...er.)

Cubase SX, SampleTank 2XL, SonikSynth 2, Miraslav Philharmonik, Amplitude, Real Guitar, A Real Guitar, Guitar Rig, Brain, some sort of limited talent Ver. 22.

hey beatsmith

there's a pic on the IK Sampletank site, under press releases. It looks pretty much the same according to the picture.

Thank goodness you can change the background color in Sampletank 2, because I still can't read that red interface,,, lol.

I'm getting really excited. I'm realizing that in the next couple of months, I'm going to have Philharmonik, and the Sampletank 2.1 upgrade. It's almost cruel to get us all excited, and then have to wait so long, but sounds like the gates are finally going to open soon, and this stuff will be on my harddrive. Woo hoo!!

I'm glad you can see the light at the end of the tunnel, I'm excited about the ST2.1 engine and sounds upgrade too.

But the product that I'm most interested in is Studiophonik and it's being talked about the least of all the new products. I guess I just have to be patient and actually in the mentime the new omnisoundz has piqued my curiosity. What has squids previously said about turning us all into sound junkies, I think I'm hooked! :help:

Now that Philharmonik is done we've been concentrating more on Studiophonik so we can get it out as soon as possible. The good news is that advances in the engine such as send fx (and maybe even a CSR reverb) will most likely benefit Studiophonik as well... so you can imagine the power of being a studio in a box it will have now! Studiophonik is going to be VERY unique and one incredible module. I will be using it all the time.

Thanks for your prompt response to my prior inquiry about Vers. 2.1. I inadvertently wrote "SS 2.1" when I meant "ST 2.1." I think you picked up on this though. In any event, it sounds like it will be worth the wait.

One other inquiry regarding Sonik Synth 2: When it first came out, there was a lot of ink devoted to the fact that this was a 'closed' system, i.e. SS2 is an instrument unto itself. Part of the fun of this, of course, is the ability to create new, and often radically different, patches for the instrument using its available resources. Given that SS2 has perhaps the largest included sample file of any instrument of its kind, this is fertile soil indeed. However, promised releases of periodic freebie patches (or a sanctioned trading site)for registered users has not materialized. I know that there are scattered sites and forums that provide these things, but it would be nice to see what the big brains of the developers come up with.

Is there anything official in the works on this that you know of?

Thanks

We're about to finally launch the promised "combi share" program through www.esoundz.com where people can upload their combis for others who own ST2, SS2 or Philharmonik can grab. In fact, they'll also be able to upload their own user demos to show off their music as well as our sounds in action. So, that is coming within not too long now. Maybe the next month or so.

Beyond that I have a plan for Sonik Synth 2 that is going to be great in terms of us as the developer giving it levels of expansion. I can't say too much more about it just yet but Sonik Synth 2 is a project that will be expanded upon and made to be even more powerful and accessible.

A "developing" SS2 sounds very exciting, Dave! As was mentioned, there is so much raw power there, it would be wonderful to have a place where people can share their combination of elements and other goodies, as well has new "banks" of Combi's or Child patches from SR!

Regarding 2.1; since SS2 is built on the same engine as ST2, I assume the upgrade will be timed very closely? The two things I'm most anxious for is the ability to use the scroll wheel, and to use SS2 as a stand-alone for live apps. I've really gotten into using my Powerbook as a sound module on gigs!

Hopefully soon!

Marcel
