I'm currently having this bizzare problem with Emagics own synthesizers in Logic 5.5.1 on the PC. Basically ES2 or any other emagic synth (especially the Evoc vocoder!) randomly changes settings when you reload Logic. It's really weird because it all looks fine, but things change... and they vary every time you close and re-open logic! This is damned annoying and is preventing me from using these synths because the settings just keep on changing! The weirdest thing is that I've never experianced this before...
A noticable effect is with ES2's cutoff... it can go really high or really low when you reload the song, but it stays at the same position!? The ES1 is very random at times and the Evoc vocoder becomes very erratic in the volume departmnent (can be loud, quiet, unstable... its weird...).
I'm running this on a AMD Athlon 64 2800+ (socket 754), Asus K8V SE Delux motherboard with a M-Audio firewire solo sound card. The system is running really smooth and I can do loads... its just this problem with the synths that is bugging me... Does logic have issues with 64 bit processors? Or at least, my breed of 64 bit processor?
Failing this, what verdict can people give me on Magix Music Studio 10? I've heard that its a lot like logic, but its price concerns me... what's the catch? Can it use VST instruments? Does it have a midi sequencer? Is it pritty much identical to logic? Why is it so cheap?
Thanks in advance
