well,
if one uses vsti only, and refuses to use samples,
since one wants it`s music unique,
then there is nothing left to "hate it".
it was never really made to become a software+hardware
mixing thingy.
if one wants that then go and use cubase.
just my 2

I bought this up because a lotta CUBASE FANS make me look like a cheap composer for using FL. i reckon the price is too good to be true for what it does. ooh and they say FL is a toy comparing to cubase
...but i prefer my setup uncomplicated. BTW james0tucson I luv the tiny controls in FL mixer..looks sexy

I have a love/hate relationship with FL:
1) It's the BEST integration with Sonar for any "studio" - much better for me than Rewire's workfrom in Reason.
2) I LOVE using it for pattern-sequencing - Nothing comes close.
DOWNSIDES
1) It doesn't have enough to justify using it as my DAW - Sonar is just way ahead for me in workflow - Therefore, I don't pull it out that often.

I am especially excited about this - or what was said about it on the fl forums: as far as i understand not only - as before - can you specify velocity/volume/pan etc per note, but any vst parameter at the bottom of the piano roll.jmp909 wrote:
now, i wonder if that only goes for the synth's controls that are used for that particular pattern, or also effects. that'd be nice. finally per-note control of all parameters right in the piano roll.

omg, that rox!!! I want to be able to control loop length of samples in a sampler, to do tracker style edits. Now, if that add a loop option and loop length to the slicer, I'd be in heaven.fabi the underachiever wrote:

Any truth to the rumor that Jean Marie's nephew got
photoshop for Christmas and designed the sampler graphics as his first project. FL has no surpassed
calkwalk for graphic disconnect. I love the idea of
fl and I think those guys are very creative--but please stop poking my in the eye. pfj

So be it! Who gives a F&%k what other people think. If it makes sound use it. I think, in the long run, the more open minded you are, and honest to your situation, the more that these humbeled qualities will creep into your music and the more secure you'll be with it...(i.e. I spent last weekend running a VL-1 through fruity with various effects).kadar wrote:a lotta CUBASE FANS make me look like a cheap composer for using FL.
As far as those "CUBASE FANS" that want to imply this, and I do know what your talking about, you sometimes get it from the friendly-stick-it-to-ya guitar center guy....
