HI guys, new to vst and mixing
I am a beginner guita player so I try to record few things I can play by nirvana
And do some vocals (cant really sing but).. I can scream out like Cobain did, so I was wondering if theres aplugin that enchances vocals to sound something like CObain
Dunno, just guessing -- who knows whats out there. Maybe a vocal distortion
Cuz ehn I sing I cant really ascream it out, but more like scream-whisper it out.

theres no way to make it sound like cobain, unless you train your voice to scream like him, and even then, its gonna sound like :you, trying to sound like cobain. I love his vocals, i think many times they were pretty dry, sometimes with a hint of natural room reverb (the vocals on in utero are some of the best vocal recordings ive ever heard)
maybe a bit of early reflections, like echos, on some songs, maybe even a tiny bit of chorusing.

sampling ?? Could you explain, not experinced with mixing or that stuff -- only know how to put VST plugins in kristal/audacity and to do panning, reverb, delay
U mean to extract his voice somehow and put it on my track ? -- do i really want that? I am doing a cover so its like lying I am singing it

You dont need alot of effects or anything just slide slowly in and out of your notes sometimes and freakin scream man. Try a little layering on some parts. If you're doing a cover just scream like you. Its your interpretation of the song right? It'll almost certainly be cooler that way. Unless you are in a cover band, in that case please disregard this post Good luck.

Cobain was an awesome & raw vocalist...!
But you do wanna sound like yourself right?
You're just talking production eh?
Maybe not... well, you can try but he was one of a kind!
Good luck!

yeah, Nirvana is not a band i think of as using a lot of effects. that said, if you're new to audio production in general, trying to make "good sounding" vocal mixes can be very challenging.
if you're not already using one, i suggest putting a compressor/limiter at the head of the vocal effects chain. a good one for this purpose might be
Digital Fish Phones Dominion, which has some nice saturation built in
after the compressor, i would drop in a really subtle reverb. how subtle? i mean "you can't really hear it in the full mix" subtle, like 5-10% wet mix max.
let us know how it goes

For that really aggressive sound you want double tracking, i.e. to overlay two versions/takes (or more) of the same vocal part. As far as I remember (not a fan) Nirvana used that very often.
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

compression is critical for a good in your face vocal. (dominion is good - i personally use blockfish from digital fish phones on just about everything).
you'll probably want to roll off the low end a bit too.
a tiny hint of amp simulation/distortion can do good things too, but resist the urge to overdo it.
