I was thinking about panoramic placement of sounds in the stereo field and was wondering whether there is a panning eq availiable or a plug that would let me inset an eq and process just certain areas of the stereo field.
it's use? well when mixing perhaps it would be useful to be able to take 240-500 hz out of a sample at around 1 o clock to fit in something that had an important harmonic at 240 - 500 hz.
What would be cool is an app like chainer that lets you process specific areas of the stereo field with the plugs you want (so I can use my UAD plugs or TC ones). Distortion only at 11 o clock for example, delay at 10 o clock etc. . .
i'd buy it, especially as i think that it could help get a bit more clarity out of mixes. . .
Cheers

Thank egarrard, that's about as helpful as a wet fish :0
obviously you could do it with multiple channels hoever it would be much, much, much easier to do it with a specific app.
Cheers

this isn't exactly what you are looking for but you may find it helpful
http://software.bluecatonline.org/StereoLinyEQ.htm
allows you to EQ left and right channels separately so you may be able to achieve what you were talking about... you'd have to adjust both L and R settings to get there though...

have to agree with eggarard on this, its a case lots of single channels being panned and reverbed(for position)and eq isnt it seeing as this is what makes up the stereo image..also maybe using a width plugin on some sounds to widen or narrow the sound.
