Hi Folks, first time poster here.
Thinking of getting a Pentium D (Dual core) and was wondering what hosts support that kind of processor?
So far I only know of Sonar and SX3 that support dual core. Anyone know if Tracktion 2 does?
Anyone know what the Tracktion 2 vs. SX3 performance is like generally?
P.S. I know there are quite a few plugin issues with Pentium D cpus but I'm mainly curious about the hosts for now.
dual core supported hosts?

HI
I don't know if Tracktion supports dual cpu's as oppossed to dual cores (or how it see's them) but on my dual xeon daw tracktion offers no obvious advantage or usage of my dual xeons - the only host I have that does is SXV3, Cakewalk's Sonar also supports dual CPU's - don't know about dual core though.
I wouldn't spend extra money on a dual core set-up based on a very, very small potential gain with Tracktion.
I am aware that the incoming up-date to SXV3 will offer support for dual core alongside dual cpu's.
I am very dissapointed at the lack of enthusiasm here at KVR by developers of host programs in general - this technology is not exactly new (dual CPU's that is) and dual core CPU's are widely available - I think it will be a long time yet before we see the likes of Live, Tracktion, Orion, XT, Fruity et al realise that people want these features .... people should start knocking on 'their' doors.
Personally I was on the Live forum asking the very question yesterday.
Bottom line is don't hold your breath for companies that are more concerned with other features to realise that they are missing a tangable opportunity to offer up 'their' program with a potential 50-70% power boost for owners of dual core (cpu's).
