What are the differences?
Does Wusik play manytone samples?
I am considering purchasing both, are the two programs so similar that buying both would be a waste of $$ ??
In any case, thanks for your input.

The ManyStation VSTi is actually WusikStation V1 with its own skin. WusikStation have since developed into V2 with a new preset-system, while ManyStation is still at V1. The presets delivered with ManyStation can easily be converted to V2-presets, though (free converter comes with WusikStation).
Both ManyStation and WusikStation comes with a huge amount of soundsets and presets, and both are worth every dime IMO.

Hi
Just to add to here:
If you read through the ManyTone Forum a bit you will see more info on the 2 products side by side, They surely do not overlap as Wusik Engine is about the Samples you feed to it..
ManyStation has Larger More detailed Soundsets of Natural instruments and Wusik is more Synth related. But that said ...ManyStation still has some great 24 Bit Synth sets. In fact pretty much the whole package is 24 bit with the exception of a few sets. (our list on our website will tell you about the soundsets included.) ManyStation has 1.5 Gigs of High Quality Sample Content.
If you buy WusikStation first you will get a 20 dollar discount on ManyStation. There is even an extra Bundle deal with the Ultimate Bass kit on at the moment too for a few more days, so now is a good time to purchase.
Also the Version 2 engine that was mentioned above will come to all ManyStation Users for Free as soon as we are ready to release it! Should be pretty soon now.
Thanks
Paul

I have WusikStation (v1) and ManyStation. When the v2 engine comes out will it convert all of my Wusik soundsets to v2 format or just the ManyStation ones (i.e. will I end up with ManyStation sounds running under the v2 engine but still need to keep my v1 engine for the non-ManyStation sounds?)manytone wrote: Also the Version 2 engine that was mentioned above will come to all ManyStation Users for Free as soon as we are ready to release it! William - can you clarify this please? Do you mean that I need to update the sounds from WusikStation (v1) when I do the upgrade to ManyStation (v2) or do you mean that unless I pay for the upgrade from Wusik v1 to Wusik v2 then I will lose the use of Wusik?WilliamK wrote:Errata - Read this post below:

Wk
I'm guessing (and hoping) it's the first option

Derek.

Hmm, well in v2 there's a new format replacing wusiksnd and you get a program to convert the old file format files to the new format. So I'm guessing you'll get the same converter from manytone and then be able to update both wusikstation files and manystation files with it. Hopefully!

Good question!
If they are this closely connected, it is a high priority feature request to decouple them. Otherwise it's no use to have the upgrade to Manystation for free, if that means you cannot use WS anymore!.

I'm not panicking over this - William is a pretty straight guy in my experience so I'm sure the first option will turn out to be correct.

It's starting to sound like the best bet is to upgrade neither ManyStation or WusikStation - stick with what works !
I actually think the current upgrade package for WusikStation is very good value for money (for existing WS owners) but:
* I don't need any more soundsets (I've got WS plus TSW plus VOX'd plus some Dangerous Bear sets plus, of course, Manystation)
* the upgrade seems to be mainly around the preset handling and I'm OK with the way that's done now
* I'm way over budget for music spend at the moment having just gone for the Philharmonik pre-order at eSoundz.
Regards,
Derek.

No, you are confusing 'soundsets' with 'presets'. It is still WusikSND for the actual soundfiles themselves, just the preset handling has changed.Seus Hawkins wrote:Hmm, well in v2 there's a new format replacing wusiksnd and you get a program to convert the old file format files to the new format. SoundSet format.
V1 = WusikSND - single Subdirectory system
V2 = WusikSND - unlimited Subdirectory System with any number of Level-Downs.
Preset Format.
V1 = BNK/PRST files - single Subdirectory system - BNKs are limited to only 96 presets.
V2 = WusikPRST files - unlimited Subdirectory System with any number of Level-Downs.
New directories created that only V2 will use
\TUN Files
\Presets
Skins
V1 and V2 skins are compatible with each other. BUT V2 has new graphics for the File-Browser and Configuration windows. The code will use DEFAULT Graphics when those V2 files are not found. So loading a V2 skin with a V1 DLL or vice-versa will still work.
So, resuming. Yes, we can make Manystation V2 be compatible with all Wusikstation V1 files. But only if the SoundSets are kept in the same way they were with V1. Paul could just convert the presets to the new V2 format and categorize/organize the presets. This won't affect Wusikstation V1.
Hope that this is more clear now.
Best Regards, WilliamK
