...just interested in finding out what plugins are giving trouble with denormalisation...I'm going to upgrade to a P4 and I am interested in any info anyone can provide about their troubles. Thanks!

I got very much trouble with the EXS24 mkII when using the filter... first moved to Kontakt, later to mac fixed this... :)

Get Normalizer from digitalfishphones.

At the URL above Sascha explains it all far better than I could.

Normalizer don't help anything with a synthesizer. Because the denormalization occurs completely inside the sound engine of the synth (concreete: in the feedback loops) and not in the audio stream between the effects.

I saw people here complaining about Mini Monsta and a slew of other stuff, but I can't remember them all.I think the Pentium M is a bit better in that reagard(shorter pipeline?),but I still see complaints with that.Anyway, good luck with Intel.

Right. I've used it with a few effects that had given me trouble. Don't remember which, it's been a while.

I haven't had any issues with minimonsta, other than the fact that some of the patches especially with unison on are real computer killers. But I don't think it has any denormal issues. Do you really think that the G-Force boys would forget that?

The only thing with minimonsta is it is just insanely CPU hungry. But that is what you get for a great sounding emulation.

psp84 always had strange cpu-usage here ...

Well, they were aware of the problem and it sounds like it has been dealt with.

In unison it registered about 30%-35% on my Athlon XP 2400 and about 10%-15% in normal mode which isn't that bad, nowhere near as bad as Cube which was almost unusable to me.

Thanks for the posts guys. Once you discover a plugin has the bug, what steps do you take? I just got my new PC today so I'd really like to know....
