if you're not already using one, i suggest putting a compressor/limiter at the head of the vocal effects chain. a good one for this purpose might be
Digital Fish Phones Dominion, which has some nice saturation built in
after the compressor, i would drop in a really subtle reverb. how subtle? i mean "you can't really hear it in the full mix" subtle, like 5-10% wet mix max.
