Hate to be a cold, dead fish, but so? These things happen. My support would extend to "hope you can solve your problem".

The whole "send us your positive thoughts, support, we can beat this!" happy vibe really makes me seriously ill myself.

Thanks JazzFranco for this information. Didn't know this.

As Bob Moog set up a website for this, he obviously doesn't like the cold, dead fish much that are the mainstream.
It's all clear that sentences like "don't give up, Bob" written into some forums don't change much, but cold, dead fish indeed changed things, and to the worse.
I have heard of people, seriously ill, that were glad that others cared. Don't think they imagined that cured them, but it's human.

If you don't agree with it thats fine, but respect others if they wish to do so. Not saying that you don't but even writing a command like that doesn't add much does it? Thanks for the link Jazz, i recently saw a documentary with mr. Moog, he seemed extremely lively at the time, a pleasure to watch, friendly chap Bob Moog.

druid, your lack of sympathy puts a bitter chill down my spine. Studies have shown that humor, acts of kindness, and simply showing the person that they are loved and appreciated can improve the immune system and overall physically enhance the chances of a better outcome.

"hope you can solve your problem" ?! how can you say that?! People's problems shouldn't be held alone...

We should go beyond ourselves to improve humanity...

i bought the dvd last week and i cant for the life of me find that thread about it here. can anyone help me?

i agree that druid could've spared us his bad vibes but i understand his cynicism cause i'm generally a cold dead fish myself. still uncalled for in a forum of synth fanatics.

Well I knew what I said wouldn't go down well. :P

It's just my nature, I would expect the same in return. Problems shouldn't be held alone, no, but people shouldn't "share" too much either. And I agree support helps - but it's the WAY people paint it so over-positively that makes me sick. I also agree that negativity can make things worse, which is why I would never actually send this sort of comment to them, I would just not send anything.

Finally, I accept that others may wish to send their regards, and apart from my comment I shan't make a single effort to stop them. That doesn't mean I can understand the reasoning, but I expect the inverse as well (others not understanding my viewpoint).

sushishiva: My comment doesn't add much, no, but neither does anyone else's, really, unless sent directly to the man himself.

I should've phrased myself better though, instead of saying it made me seriously ill I should've said the amount of over-done positivity is inversely proportional to my good feeling. If someone were to say "wish him luck" I wouldn't really feel any particular way, if someone erected a Bob Moog shrine with lovehearts and flowers everywhere, I would twitch in agony. Not for Bob Moog, just the sentiment from the person themself.

Still, I can't help reacting like that on the topic of famous people and brain tumours. Famous people attract more praise and attention than they should (in my opinion of course) and brain tumours... My mother, whom I live with still, has one. The amount she has blamed the tumour for heaps of things, used it as an excuse, is astounding, so I have been programmed with the idea that people rely too much on blaming tumours when the tumours aren't responsible for as much as some say they are (using it as a crutch). So while I make no claim Bob does the same thing, anything to do with brain tumours and the potential for people saying or thinking things like "oh no that's really bad! I couldn't live with it, oh I am so sorry" sort of makes me impulsively post...

As for being "uncalled for" .. I'm not really sure what that means. I know what idea it's meant to portray, but not how one can really apply it to anything realistically. :)

Sorry about my long response, it's a terribly bad habit of mine. I'm not even kidding. I shall leave this thread alone now, please continue.
