Thanks for the response Squids. Sounds like this will be another winner. :)

Yes, Squids, I think what we've been able to get from you here is;
(a) It's not like other products IK does, and that's not a bad thing
(b) It's quality is unparalleled
(c) You'll need a good demo to prove it.
Three shall be the number of the counting

And the number of the counting shall be three.

It's not always features and parameters that makes the value (as evidenced by a two knob LA2A).
Uh...Squids,

What is the compressor in T-Racks modeled after? Been eyeing the UAD stuff and didn't know that limiter in T Racks was modeled after the the Fairchild but I was wondering if you guys will be modeling the LA2A? If so I'll wait for it. Not trying to Hijack this thread but I wouldn't put it pass you guys to pull this off if you haven't already planned to or done so.

Actually, I did say that Ampeg in some ways IS like other IK products, such as T-Racks in the way that I described it. Maybe the only difference is the dual branding... although IK and SR do that all the time too so, in my mind it isn't all that different!

Demos? Of course. When the product is close to being released. No shipping announcement yet though.

T-Racks compressor is modeled after the Fairchild 670 which is a limiter. A limiter is a type of compressor that has a high ratio more or less. To have the sound of that product but with compressor features like lower ratios (2 to 1, 3 to 1) is nice for mastering purposes.

T-Racks is a GEM! Go get it on www.esoundz.com ;)

But, I use T-Racks as well as my UAD card which I like a lot as well. All good stuff that pros like to use in their virtual studios. T-Racks you can take around on a laptop though.

The EQ in T-Racks is modeled after this esoteric EQ that was in Abbey Road studios. It sounds incredibly musical to me. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that EQ as do many others. The multi-band limiter in T-Racks and soft clipper is also extremely useful and sounds great. I am not sure what they were modeled after but I think it may be possible that the soft clipper algo came partially from an 1176. The channel strip in ST2 has a compressor at least that was modeled after the 1176.

IK is 8) Anyone can give you just gobs of effects, but to have ones that have the classic character of sought after vintage pieces is right up most musician's alley (including mine).
