Thanks! :)
OMU wrote: anyway, i'm really surprised about the way you look at L3. seems to me that what makes it great is annoying you. your tastes man.
Yes, it is indeed a matter of taste.. FYI I'm not alone at all when it comes to this plugin, L3.
OMU wrote: and thank you for your wise advice. i am using my mind everyday creatively, how about you?
Well, right now my brain is on overload from mixing an album that needs to be done before the 30th of August (mastering day!).. so my apologies if I was too rude.

Cheers!

I can't believe it made it to 10 pages.

It's because *some of us* wrote massive long-winded posts that went on for half a page and included loads of quotes from other people's equally long-winded waffle. That's basically how it works.

It's KvR tradition. The original poster disappears once he sees the temperature rise and all the innane arguments.

It's no substitute for good vocal technique. If you need one for your talk show guests, you have to decide if they really deserve you spending that much money on them to embarrass them a little lessssssss.

:o you take him serious in any way after he explained us that a popshield prevents strong sybilants?

Maybe Stairsteps came across on the arrogant side, but I understand his/her concerns when dealing with clients.

In our video studio we've just done a pile of work for a client which has been visually innovative - and we think GREAT too.

But the client and his pals have gutted some of the best visual ideas, and requested what we consider to be boring and pedantic alternatives.

They waste our time, and all the loving heart and goodness we put into the job. Just a fact.

But the point is that they're the Client, they're paying, and I need their money (which is a lot) to go on holiday next week.

So while Stairsteps comes off dictatorial, I can see his point for sticking with Waves, as it's what his clients like.

It's what they pay him for.

By contrast, project studios have a level of production freedom that the pro studio never has.

have you read all of his posts? :?

I'm sure this boy is far from ever having had any customer and if so I feel very sorry for the customer - what's with this latest trend of discussing with trolls?

I agree with you 100% there, all these plug ins are of the highest quality. At the end of the day its how you use them that gets the best results.

I took up your recommendation and read up some of Stairsteps posts.

He only has one middling computer running an Audigy card. I would find it impossible to run a pro studio on such little gear.

OTOH his software list includes a lot of synths - inc Sonar and Project 5.

And he has a reasonably detailed knowledge of different hip hop styles.

So while being a pro studio owner sounds out of the question, having a few mates around to record doesn't sound unreasonable.

jens - point taken

hip hop doesnt require good quality plugins...

I'm not sure how to take the Audigy thing, regarding serious studio business (perhaps he's got a better AD converter?)... but all those pseudo-funny comments are just fine to scare people away from KVR. And as of lately this is happening in about every "popular" thread. As if all the regulars were doing important studio work (or even great sounding productions) and could afford making elitary comments... 95% of them certainly aren't.
