differences between the two....

I'm very interested in purchasing Crusher X, but I don't know which one to purchase: Live or Studio. What are the main differences between the two? I know that Live can be used as a stand alone, but what about functionality? If you can use a vst-bridge to connect Live to your host, what's the difference?

Is there a spec sheet that I could look at? I can't seem to find a 'comparison chart' on the website.

I use Live and not studio, but looking at the screenshot, these are the differences I can spot:

Live can stream up to four samples/files of any length from disc. Studio seems to lack the sampler section.
Both Live and studio can process incoming audio.
Live has 4 DCOs that can modulate each other. Studio seems to have just one.
Studio will sync vapour modulations to tempo. Live will not.
Live seems to have more multichannel output control than Studio, unless there's a paged panel in Studio not evident in the screenshot.

Unless tempo sync is an absolute necessity, I'd go for Live over Studio. VST-bridge works very well in every host I've tried it with. Be prepared to lose all your spare time - it's quite addictive, and you can do much more with it than most people would imagine.

Funny thing how, besides the syncing of vapor modulations, the Live version seems like a fuller featured program, yet Live is 100 euros cheaper!

I've wondered that too... perhaps Joerg will stop by and go into more detail - I haven't used Studio so I may be incorrect about certain details.

yes i will make a comparison sheet next days...

Meanwhile:
The main different is, that crusherX-Studio! is a real VST-Plug where every of its parameters can be controlled and recorded live and save/loaded via the host.

crusherX-Live! has integrated Samplers and Oscillators and Joystick-Controll and is more designed for an "all in one" live solution. The VST-Bridges of crusherX-Live! workes fine but you have to run the application beside the host. In normal studio situations with a total recall approach this is not the best way. Also parameter controlling can only be done via MIDI-Mapping.

You can donwload both apps as demos and test them on www.crusher-x.de...

I would like to see the price changed. From my end-user perspective, I just can't see why the Studio version should cost 100 € more.
