Midi Plugins in Live4

Hi
I'm using Live4, and wanted to use more midi plugin than the ones bundled with it (like randomizer...).
the problem is that many of them are imported as vst instrument, and not as vst fx, so i don't know how to use them.
- WIth Xoxos Talent and Arp4midi, i don't know how to use them, it is recognized as vsti, and if i load one of them in another midi track, i can't achieve to send the midi data to another track with a vsti.
- With Tobybear Midibag (arpimedes, etc.), the plugins are known as plugin and not vsti, but i can't put them before a synth (as it is the case with randomizer), so it won't work.
- I would like to make midi sequences with many random parameters to control external hardware gear, but i don't know how to do (the way i think it is it doesn't work, my gear stay mute).
Could someone tell me if i use those plugins the wrong way, or if Live4 doesn't recognize them well (like its own native plugins), or what the hell is happening !

Can't utilise midi plugs in Live 4 - need live 5 to use 3rd party midi plugs (as far as I know).

Try the demo of EnergyXT and see if that will allow you to string the connections. It's not as seamless as doing it native in Live, but it gives you a lot of capabilities for the money.
I use EnergyXT in Sonar, Project5, and FLS for this very purpose.

Really ? Live5 is way better for midi ? Is it worth the upgrade ?need live 5 to use 3rd party midi plugs
That's the advice someone gave me on a french forum... SO this seem to be the right way...Try the demo of EnergyXT and see if that will allow you to string the connections. It's not as seamless as doing it native in Live, but it gives you a lot of capabilities for the money.
But Ext looks too huge, that's right it may be a really rocking program, but it might take hundred of hours to know how to use it well !
Is there any tutorial to do such a thing (routing midi in Ext opened in LIve) ?
Thanks.

Definitely... on both countssinkmusic wrote: Really ? Live5 is way better for midi ? Is it worth the upgrade ?
Big MIDI improvement include :
* far more flexible quantise options (note end as well as start, percentage quantise, more options) and
* MIDI note preview in the piano roll
* 3rd party MIDI effects
