love the song and I have many copies of it...by samples what do you mean? I'm not gonna take parts from the song and send them to you as I'm not sure of the legal ramifications...I can make samples of the hammond sound John Lord used if you like..otherwise I suggest buy the song for a buck from msn...;)

well my primary interests are two elemnts inside this song

The Bassline (the song starts with this bass)

and the Guitar, the hardest one in minute 05:53

thats wat i Exactly need, cause im going for a remix, for legal and ilegal, thats not my area, i mean if i have to ask for permission, ok but, if the samples exist in the internet, then i think they must be Free, like OPEN :)

Search for a midi file ...

I once had a very, very good midi file from child in time - too bad i don't have it anymore ...

I don't get it; do you want bass and guitar samples that sound like the originals, so you can re-track the instruments or do you want clips of the actual performances?

Actually the bassline I think you're hearing is the Hammond no? TBH I haven't listened to the original in years, I have live versions and even have Malmsteens version (which is surprisingly good) I'll dig out the original...;)

The masters are in the vault so it will not be possible to use the original. You could go with a pro midi file...

....but while I'm here let me rant for a minute...
See there is this thing that musicians do that seems to be falling by the wayside these days - it's called woodshedding. I.e., time spent practicing the musical craft- getting idiokinetic with your instrument so you can play it cold. Sure you can get the midi file and parts of it might sound OK but nothing beats really learning to play the song and performing the parts yourself. OK end of rant!

The rhythm section instruments should be doable - there are tons of good bass, organ and drum VIs now -BFD for sure for the drums SampleTank2 for the organ and bass part. The singer will have to be real I'm afraid, so find one that is awake and hopefully sober enough to remember the words.

Now the toughest thing will be the guitar part -IMO you are stuck with learning and doing your best to emulate Richie Blackmore yourself - assuming you play guitar that is - and good luck with that - vintage American Strat through a early seventies HIWATT stack is essential btw :D . If not then there is yet the is no sample-based instrument that comes even close. The results will be severely compromised.

Best,
Gordon

speaking of Blackmore....first likely he is tuned to open G, second if he needs a part played I'm sure there are several of us here that could do it.

Oh and a song of mine that had been on the backburner for a while "The Castle of Lord Blackmoore" (two O's to include Gary Moore, though he had nothing to do with purple) has been brought out this last week, I have redone , the bass, drums and the intro (lots of ambient sound effects, such as wind, rain, footsteps, drwabridge opening...ect)...now it's just time for the fun parts...it's all instrumental so I get to have fun with the hammond (I stared to say organ...but alas I know kvr all too well) and gi-tar parts...maybe I might even finish it this year...:hihi:

btw beardeone....Ritchie used a Marshall Master (200 watt superlead) not a Hi-Watt...;)

Thanks Hink! I don't know why I thought he used a HIWATT. Marshall Master 200W Superlead eh? Must be because I still have a bit of jones for an old HIWATT...

I respect Blackmoore as one of the few heavy rock guitarists who could solo in musically interesting way.

Good luck with your resurrected project. It sounds like it will be a good one.

Cheers,
Gordon

back in the 80's before some jerk stole most of my gear I had an old Mesa Boogie SOB Head on a HI-Watt 4x12...it had Fane speakers....I swear that cab was louder then any other cab I have heard...they didn't steal the cab though, they just kicked in the speakers... :x I'm not sure whatever became of that cab after, I think I left behind somewhere...
