from the page;

alpha 3;

- the compressor works now.
- fixed ranges when calculating times,
they should be more accurate now.
- added ms time calculation to vocfilter.
- fixed phaser controls.
- fixed problem with gate floor not being zero = off.
- fixed chorus saying "expoential" (missing n)
- figured out make build process and wrote some scripts.
updating the effects will be much easier now, hurray.
- parameq added, sucks at the moment.

Hi aciddose,

just wanted to say thanx for the FX, tried the former release and I kept the gate, really good.
I like gooey! Cool sounds.
Will check the new release later, tired.

Maybe don't release beta until you've completed these from the todo list:
- add distortion.
- add freq/time shifter
I look forward to these two especially.

what exactly is going on in the audio example? I love it!

its a breakbeat going through the gate, and xhip playing a bass (saw+pulse with 24dbo lowpass) into a phaser. there is another copy of xhip with the 'bad guitar' patch playing into the hardclip, and then phaser.
the two xhip channels and the breakbeat channel are mixed and sent to an effects channel with the compressor set at 1/180 ratio with 1ms attack 80ms release (standard medium compression)

the breakbeat channel also gets part sent directly to the output, and that small part is 50/50 original and hardclipped to give it more crunch.. the whole thing has some simple eq on it (bass i did a high cut, mixed compressor i did a bass boost, etc).. just something i did up to try to give a non-synthy example of xhip and the effects.

there is some automation on the gate on threshold and floor level, then the bass cutoff and the volume of the distorted guitar setup. the dist guitar channel also has a xhip reverb applied to it at the start of my 'almost hook' and bypassed during the rest of the clip.

i'll complete the track some time i hope, i need to come up with a hook and etc :P

Oh,

just had a go with the new alpha. I like:
Chorus, very lush sounding
Phaser, same as chorus, very warm sounding
Compressor, like that one. Interesting sound.
Gate, really good!
Filter, simply cool vowel filter.
I'm not a fan of the reverb, I'll send you a preset which produces some strange distortion.

Best wishes, FRitz

Hi aciddose,

I didn't find a way to send you a preset for the reverb showing the distortion problem. Interested? Please PM me with an email address so I can send it to you.

These are great, aciddose! I got some interesting things going on when chaining them after breakbeat.

Any plan to add sync to host for delay, the LFO's, etc.?

Thank you for these!

Hi aciddose,

Nice !
Reverb and Phaser are exelent. :)
Chorus also has a nice tone but uses way too much cpu,
while all other are fine cpu wise.

The mdelay is also interesting but missing bpm sync...

Great work, thanks a lot ! :)

the reason the chorus sounds nice is the same reason it uses a lot of cpu, the chorus is a 128 stage phaser, sorry, no way to escape that. if you'd like a digital chorus instead of the analog one, use the mdelay with small mod depth and small delay settings. most of the chorus you can find are usually just a relabeled mdelay, i decided to make a real chorus effect instead, which has actually to my knowlage never been done before, dispite its simplicity.

they're still alpha, dont expect me to finish everything so fast, i didnt code my timemachine plugin yet :P

these seem really interessting!

Holy cow 128 stages ! :-o

Maybe you can escape by adding a 64 and 32 stage option... ;)

If you ever do your timemachine, please add revers time also ! :D

OK,

that explains a LOT. I like the chorus a lot. Gotta have an eye on the CPU meter, didn't check that yet.

Hey aciddose!

come on, you gotta recheck your priorities! :hihi:

Naa, just kidding. Thanx again for your great plugins.
