I have an old copy of logic audio 5.5 so at some stage I may try your test, probably with the full version of Pristine Space which I have or SIR. Thanks for posting all those details.
I read in a magazine review that applecare costs over $1,000 a year for Logic 7.

I don't know but is the applecare license transferable?christianmusicmaker wrote: I read in a magazine review that applecare costs over $1,000 a year for Logic 7.I think it was in the Music tech or CM review of Logic 7.Is this true? How much did you have to pay for your applecare support?

I've switched to a Dual 2.7 G5/2gb RAM/Logic Pro 7.1 system a month ago (from P4 2.8ghz/1gb RAM/Cubase SX3) and I couldn't be happier (I truly hated Logic and still hate the interface of older versions, but compared to Steinbug's core bugs I think I can get used to 7.1 interface which is great btw)...
Logic truly rocks...

I tried a g5 and logic 7.1 a while back and I really didn't like it, felt really strange to me very different from the last version on pc way back.
I think I just don't dig macs and their 'designer' one click mouse button

waste of a perfectly good mouse, plugging it in to one of those overpriced doorstops.

ttoz speaks the truth.. I couldn't resist the evil... so I hunted down a copy of logic 5.2 (btw, plz don't give me shit! I was curious about this test ONLY.. this is science here, and I have no intention of using LAP--as a matter of fact, it's deleted already... the stuff I own is what I use). In any case, he's right. Live and T glitch almost immediately with 2 instances and max'ed low latency (PrestineSpace Lite Demo and Echo Indigo @ 64 samples) here (Pentium-M 1.7). I could get 9 instances in LAP 5.2 ... totally glitch free audio... adding the 10th would halt playback. Dunno the exact cpu, cos I couldn't find the meter (Logic has always baffled me). The screen refresh was almost nil tho. Interesting stuff none the less... it really does play glitch free tho... good luck with your investment... I hope it's right for you... *this time*
