wanted: plugin that analyzes multiple inputs' spectrum

what if there could be a plugin that can analyze every frequency of tracks you input? for example, you could input guitars, drums, bass, vocals, and easily see the spectral space that each one takes, in order to EQ it down. Each input we could label and it could assign each input to a certain color.
i mean right now we have tools like that elevayta has that can compare like two at a time, but what if we could get something that can input like 4,8,10,12, or more? how cool would that be? we could lock it into place and use eq of choice and easily remove mud visually so much easier.
Just a silly idea i suppose

yeah like i can program.
i'd buy it though. how come no one... NO ONE has come up with this idea? i dont get it.
it could also have like averages, like while playing, you could click guitar, bass, vocals and then it'd show in updated averaged numbers what the "major offending frequency range" could be!

no, that looks to me like a single input (stereo) EQ. i want just an analyzer that can accept multiple inputs and compare them visually as well as numerically.

Voxengo's GlissEQ does this to a degree - you can overlay a couple of instances. Good idea though if there was a similar plugin that could overlay a good amount of channels this way.

exactly. this is a gold mine idea. some dev i hope will pick this idea up (maybe voxengo?) like Multi-Span and give me a free copy for the idea

I wonder if those folks at Elemental Audio are open to feature suggestion to their just recently announced Inspector XL
Worth a try, I guess, so go ahead.

I dont understand..you can just stick a spectrum analyzer at the end of any track you want to.
It sounds like you are basicly asking a coputer to mix for you by showing you what frequencies are clashing. This is all accomplished by using your ears and Eqing. If you really need to know an instrument's range, just put in an analyzer on the track.
But once you go down the road of mixing with your eyes, you are never going to have great mixes.

i don't know the details of the vst spec, but to me it sounds like something that would require modifications of the way the HOST deals with sending data to plugins, to make coding a plugin like this worth undertaking
you could probably get away with making a plugin that would only be usuable in stuff like bidule, energyXT, etc, but in Cubase, Sonor, Orion, etc etc (As Far As I Guess) wouldn't be able to do it...
it WOULD indeed be very cool to have a plugin like this, and also it would be very nice if more hosts (esp. SX please) had a more modular approach to routing plugins (like eXT or Bidule does).
however the plugin itself would probably only be a fairly small increase in 'coolness' factor over just loading multiple instances of your favorite analyser tool, no?

hello. i can already do that of course. what im saying is being able to put it all into one spectrum analyzer, and seeing all of the frequencies at once, stacked up against each other. it would be awesome to help people mix, to help give them ideas on how they can sculpt their audio canvas.
it would work in tracktion 2.
and it would be a huge increase because you'd see it all at once.

I do use my ears, im saying it would be interesting and useful to have a tool to assist you and your ears etc.
