XP2600+ (Barton)
Via kt333 chipset
786mb ram
Geforce FX5200
two harddisks - both 7200rpm
Echo Mia
lots of crackles when using the native drivers
no big problems when using the asio4all drivers
even when pushing the cpu (apart from the bizarre problem described in the thread I already linked to
earlier)
I had additionally an EMU APS installed before and had no problems when using the kx-driver

Yes i will see if that happens jorgen, but to be honest its more anoying that ext can't play audio even when i dont move the gui or mousejorgen wrote:I mean loading wavs into the audio part comp instead of the sequencer comp, and then see if mouse/gui interrupts still causes the same level of crackles.

Has anyone actually tried Ccleaner as I suggested. For whatever reason, this is great at eliminating pops and crackles.

I have tried cclearner as well (great app btw... a nice little addition to regcleaner
)... but it didn't help.
I like to restate what I kinda stumbled on above. The asio4all drivers are basically clean on my machine, while the echo drivers glitch/buzz. As the cpu processing gets more intense the gui slows with asio4all.. but with the echo drivers, the gui is a lot snappier with the same load.... the plot thickens.
Sony Vaio Z1WA Laptop
1.7 Pentium-M
1400x1050 ATi Mobility Graphics
Echo Indigo
1G ram
Logitech Mx500 mouse
a dollar in my pocket...

Have any of you guys, with the energy EXT dropout problem, fiddled around with "Global" PCI latency
using PCI Latency Tool....or similar program?

Might be worth a try........................................

I've tried that PCI thing too... but when you really think about it, none of that should be needed. In any case, it didn't help my situation...
however, if jorgen may have "uncrackled" it...

So when do we get the ucrackled version???

I essentially have the exact same prob as ModuLR when using ASIO4all vs the Indigo IO drivers.
Toshiba Sattelite
Mobile CPU 1.8GHz
512MB ram
NVIDIA GeForce4 440 Go (1280x1024 @ 32bit)
Echo Indigo IO

Everyone planning on testing the uncrackled version.. Please test thoroughly in the sequencer with audio samples before claiming it works "perfectly." Save a project, reopen it and play the sequence.. Because i think it had something to do with the first pass.
