We all know peterson makes great tuners, but this would be helpful........I have buzz feiten on one of my basses, so I'd do the deluxe.
Anyone got it/used it?

peterson tuners (the hardware version) start at about 190 street price.
They are real tuners. The buzz feiten system uses special tuning parameters.........
anyways.....I'll keep bumpin'............someone somewhere has to have one of these...........

Just try that chromatic tuner,
it works perfect !

You really cant compare the hardware price to the software.

What shocks me most is that they need 26mb while Graham's tuner needs 123kb...
Even to add 1 million tuning tables would not use 26mb.
They simply have no clue about codeing...
Think about that !

Really ? Nothing you can do using software:eyeknow666 wrote:They are real tuners. The buzz feiten system uses special tuning parameters...
If you need a tuner for open tunings any chromatic tuner will do, as long as you know what to doThe Buzz Feiten Tuning System is a tempered tuning system for guitars and basses that corrects the tuning discrepancies of standard intonation by repositioning the nut and adjusting the bridge saddles according to the Feiten System's patented formulas. Guitars with the Feiten System have vastly improved intonation over the entire range of the instrument. Any chord shape can be played anywhere on the neck with proper intonation from fret to fret and string to string.

I have a "feitenized" Tom Anderson and I've got no problems tuning it with my standard tuners.
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

Peterson digital tuners are modeled on $500 strobe tuners and are 10 times more precise than typical digtial tuners. You can set your bridge intonation with a Peteson and you can't do that with great accuracy with standard tuners, thus the high price and possibly why they need more memory for the s/w. I'd be interested in this s/w but I have a h/w VS tuner and it does the job. I don't use b/f tuning at this time, though.

Check the specs and if it is measures as finely as their other tuners, get it. No other digital tuners that I know of come close to the precision of Peterson's. You will no longer need to take your bass into the shop for setups, if you're willing to put in the time to do it and you have a Peterson. They pay for themselves over time for that reason.

Looks very interesting. A real joke to me that there is no demo. I wonder if it is as accurate as the hardware versions. I dn't get the readout though. I am looking for a meter needle and seeing a chess board readout. How does that work?

Yeah; why no demo?
and let me say: a $349.00 tuner??? Man, and I thought it was all the rackmount gear I can't afford that made the difference...

The other thing I don't get is they say it can tune, well almost anything, but not a piano. I don't have any clue why this might be. Either way after searching their tuners is top notch and this PC version is as cheap as they get.

That's modeled on the readout of a real strobe tuner and, to be frank, I don't understand why they included that since it is a digital tuner so they could have any graphic they wanted. It is easy to read, though. It just "spins" upward if the note is sharp and downward if it is flat. The horizontal divisions are for different octave ranges. Supposedly the lower ones are more accurate but they are not always available due to the harmonic content or readability of the note.morelia wrote:Looks very interesting. The complaint I have is that, unless I'm missing something, there is no numerical readout on my VS (Virtual Strobe) tuner, and there are times when you would want one just to know in numbers how far off something is. You can, however, change the standard pitch values in fractions of cents.
The s/w version looks at first glance more complex, though, so I'd assume there are more interface options than the h/w has.
Trust me, if you have an electric guitar or bass you want one of these and if the s/w works as well as the h/w it's a bargain. I may buy it just for the additional features once I learn more about it.
I wouldn't fault them too quickly for not offering a demo. This is their first PC s/w product so they are new to the game.
