"Dear My name here,
Thank you for your order.
We´ve received the following order data:
1 x Guitar Rig: 299.00 Euro
Postal Mail: 4.95 Euro
Sum: 303.95 Euro
includes 0.00% VAT:"
Besides, software is easy to hide. The wife would kill me if a stack of huge amps all of a sudden popped up in my music/computer room. Ta to NI for delivering to alternative addresses too.

Ah, you do that too. I've been feeling very guilty about that sort of thing...like the time I popped out to a trade show and had to sneak BFD and Sonik Synth in quietly. Very tempted then with Guitar Rig - £220 it was then. This time though I can't sneak it in...I just can't..I mustn't...OK then.

Yeah, that reminds me of when I purchased Korg Legacy. She didn't take notice of the new MS-20 controller sitting on my desk (the desk is anyways cluttered with MIDI controller, mixer and a MIDI keyboard, maybe that was why), but I told her about the purchase two months or so later, at a party when everyone was listening so she couldn't say anything.Trojan Badger wrote:Ah, you do that too. Oh well, it's not that she won't let me purchase anything, it's more that I feel guilty about confronting her with it, especially when household bills are dropping into the mailbox.

Thats the beauty of software, I can dispose of the box, and install the software without the wife having a clue. Downloadable software makes it even easier.Z wrote:Yeah, that reminds me of when I purchased Korg Legacy. Pod XT = $299.00 No CPU load, near Zero Latency, no registration hassles, no problems to re-sell, portable and not to hard to sneak past the wife.

...when my software arrives by mail order, I tell her it's "free upgrade" to the old software! I call it revenge for the wife classic "What this old thing? Oh I've had this ages!" Really? Why haven't you cut the tags out yet then?
Focusrite Liquid Channel and an RME Fireface turning up tomorrow. Wonder what they can be a free upgrade too? :-)

I think I want that Line 6 Tone core thingy that models guitar/bass/vox and handles mic inputs and instrument inputs all in one.

However, I'd be very surpirsed if that 1985 JCM800 combo didn't go way over the current price. eBay gets hot and heavy fairly late in the game, FME.Mutant wrote:baggio wrote:Native Instruments are having a summer sale on Guitar Rig and reduced the price to £200/$339/€299.

Right. He said infinitely more analog, but he forgot to add "infinitely louder".SleepyP wrote:yeah, plus it's fairly silly to compare hardware & software amps.
I have a great amp (Victoria) but I also use Trash because it's much more convenient and more versatile.
