Hi flipper,

imho windows has a terrible tcp/ip stack.

Using the net on a windows pc while using a (nearly) real time application is not a good idear. Same here.
I don't know why but you can see it even in browsers/outlook that the task/task communication is not well using the net.

System hangs when something is not well on the other side.

Sorry i know my english is terrible

damn, what works better on some drivers makes it worse on others. I have email echoaudio for tech support on the issues.

Could you guys make a post for each card that does NOT work with native drivers AND if it helps or not using ASIO4ALL, something like

- indogo audio crakles with native drivers working in gui
- ASIO4ALL sort out the crackles 95%

cheers

...basically still relevant as far as eXT (and almost no other apps) struggling to get along with Echo's native ASIO drivers and ASIO4ALL working far far better.

Ive been able to pinpoint it and someone else mentioned this too.
THIS IS WHEN MY PROBLEM OCCUS:
When i reboot my computer, the first pass through any song that has audio in the seq crackles.. The more audio samples that are playing at once the worse it is.
I dont think you all understand how bad this really is. You all are describing little pops when moving the gui.. While that is a problem- Mine sounds like you took an audio sample of chewbacka and sent it through a bit crusher > then timestretch(audio slows down very slow) > then buffer override (4 tracks of audio)!

This is supposed to be ambient music! Im sure my results are worse than what most of you are describing but someone else had these exact symptoms earlier in the thread.
The following statement is true.
The previous statement is false.

This looks like a LOW memory issue to me.

I think this is a disk cache issue rather then a driver/asio issue. When you load a song in eXT it should "put" the wavs on the cache, making the playback smoother. Not shure why you have to play thru once to get rid of the stutters.

I remember fixing this some time back thoug, and I think it helped out for some users.

Do you use fixed swap size? Swap on c:? how about yuor song is it lots of large wavs?

thanks, but are there any other cards with audio crackles while working in the gui thread on low cpu?

Jorgen, you may have missed a few months ago in another topic but SynthMaker, with its ASIO implementation based on your ASIO code, has had exactly the same glitching issues with Echo native drivers when compared with ASIO4ALL. In fact it's the only other application I've had the problem with.

I dont even know what fixed swap size is. They could be half second samples and still generate clicks. All i know is that it works perfectly in sonar (not being rude by comparing your product to sonar-ext is 10x better ;) )

I would like to phase out sonar and use ext exclusively- if only ext supported dxi and pdc then i would use sonitus effects, but lets not get into that now, ive got bad crackling issues.
