Now may be the time. I forced myself to go back to upgrading every other level like I had been since I bought Cakewalk 1, but now they have a nice offer for those of us that held out.
All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.

Sounds like quite the special... I hear that the latest 4.03 update is really smooth... I'm looking forward to seeing what Ron et al. are cooking up for V5.

That's nice of them. Too bad I didn't hold out to upgrade.
BTW 4.03 is indeed a really stable update, but there is a problem with using punch-ins and the panning laws, and the panning laws not being remembered. They promised to fix it in Sonar 5 but if it's a huge problem stick to 4.02.

I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.

Panning lawws *are* remembered - they're pre project and the user who raised this thought they were global.

Version 5 coming soon? Sweet! I hope it has side mounted missle launchers. That's always been my dream. I'm having no problems with 4.03 thus far, but it could stand to be just a little bit more deadly.

It´s not the 1st time I´ve seen Cakewalk do this, and for this reason, it will not be the 1st time I pass up on Cakewalk´s stuff.xylyx wrote:Apparently not.baggio wrote:Does this apply to uk/europe customers
I´ve been interested in Sonar and Project 5 before, I´m still kinda interested, but they seem to treat European customers badly, so I won´t buy anthing from them until this changes.

Well, there is a topic with regards to this over on Cakewalk's Sonar forum and one of the Cakewalk staff has responded about the whole matter (http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.asp?m=567047). The crux of it is that they say they cannot offer stuff like this to customers outside the US & Canada because the distribution is not handled by them. They have assured us non-US & Canada residents that there is something in the works regarding the disparity between what the North Americans get and what everyone else gets and that we will all be very happy with what results from this...JoeSchmoe wrote:It´s not the 1st time I´ve seen Cakewalk do this, and for this reason, it will not be the 1st time I pass up on Cakewalk´s stuff.xylyx wrote:Apparently not.baggio wrote:Does this apply to uk/europe customers

So we wait with baited breath...although I own S4PE and P5v2 already, so this offer isn't of any interest to me anyway...but hopefully it will see everyone being given equal treatment in the future.

I didnt know that about European customers. That's too bad. Hopefully they will remedy the situation.

Yep, I know about that, but I still haven´t seen them do anything.xylyx wrote:JoeSchmoe wrote:It´s not the 1st time I´ve seen Cakewalk do this, and for this reason, it will not be the 1st time I pass up on Cakewalk´s stuff.xylyx wrote:Apparently not.baggio wrote:Does this apply to uk/europe customers

The response from the Cakewalk staff member(on the linked post) only occurred a day or so ago...I wouldn't expect to see anything change until S5 is released, at the very earliest. It wouldn't surprise me if it is 2006 before any change happens (if it happens).

They made a similar offer about six months after S4 was released, that S2 and earlier users could upgrade for the same price as S3 users.
I bought
and I'm happy. But between S4 and P5V2 I'm not sure I will have a reason to justify S5. Wonder what S6 will feature?

I bought

I can't find this anywhere on Cakewalks website. Is this a special offer only for existing customers?Rabid wrote:Now may be the time. I forced myself to go back to upgrading every other level like I had been since I bought Cakewalk 1, but now they have a nice offer for those of us that held out.
