To buy EnergyXt.
Yes, dear forum members, EnergyXT. As some of you well know, I'd been agonizing over which host to purchase. After lots of research, experimentation and soul-searching, I chose EnergyXT.
I decided I wasn't being totally fair to EnergyXT. FL Studio captured my creative imagination easily, and I found it really fun to work with. EnergyXT didn't have the ease of entry, but as I've played with it some, I found it to be very powerful in its own right.
While I still may pick up FL eventually, I plan to put aside a bit of money hither and yon between now and then while playing with EXT. I already have a bit of confusion about it that I'm sure will be sorted out in time, but I'm looking forward to challenging myself a bit. As another poster said several times, just because something is initially difficult, doesn't mean it will stay that way once you come to understand and use it.
I probably will get FL eventually because I understand it and EXT are a potent one-two punch. But for now, I'm going to dig in and see what this sucka can do.
Thanks, everyone, for all the advice.

You won't regret it. Anything you could ever want to know about it you can find in hours just by posting on XT's kvr forum.

Have you seen the Flash tutorials? They are quite in-depth but easy to follow. Find 'em here:

It handles MIDI well - internally, anyway. Interfacing with hardware is a bit harder.Ildon wrote:FLStudio would be perfect if it handled audio and MIDI better than it does. You can make a good groove in under a minute... mmmm, percussion...

Yeah, that's basically what I meant.zircon wrote:It handles MIDI well - internally, anyway. Interfacing with hardware is a bit harder.Ildon wrote:FLStudio would be perfect if it handled audio and MIDI better than it does. You can make a good groove in under a minute... mmmm, percussion...
Its quantization feature sucks.
