id like to be able to play better
who gives about being famous
who gives about being famous
I believe every thread should devolve into character attacks and witch-burning. It really helps the discussion.

heh well maybe i went a little far by saying i wanna be famous. I definitely dont wanna be too famous or anything rockstar type.. but famous producer would be nice. More than anyting i'd like to be the guy that everyone is ripping off. Know what i mean? They say imitation is the greatest compliment u can get (or something like that) so yeah i'd like to be influential in the scene!

I think he means like .... "wanna buy this 1985 Honda? $10000. Only a little broken." and "Hey, that sounds like a bargain. I'll take it".putte wrote:.. not me. but i´d be interested to know what you mean.mark77 wrote:More than anyting i'd like to be the guy that everyone is ripping off. Know what i mean?

I understand what your saying mark.
as for me I just hope I can always maintain the same level of passion, and respect, for music that I have now. jaded = dead.

usually nothing happens unless you make it happen, but fame is only for those who both made it happen and are very lucky (even luckier to have staying power), and even then i'd only want to be among them if i had an excellent contract and full creative control.
so with all that, i'd say being famous for my music is probably not going to happen. (though it sure would be nice.) so for me, the really huge dreams are likely just that...dreams, not goals.
a more moderate goal, but still kind of a pipedream - to be getting paid for film and video game soundtrack work *and* to have creative control over my music and the use of it within the project. (i've already learned that i dont like directors with no musical training fuking with my tracks and treating my work like a sample cd.)
smaller, more reasonable goals:
- write better music
- finish songs much more often
- write with a wider range of feels/emotions
- try wiring lyrics and singing again
- tighten up my timing on bass
- improve at mastering
- experiment more often
- make my own visuals that i then soundtrack
...and of course to keep having fun.
i think if i can achieve those, i will have accomplished something.

I like that goal: finish songs more often, that goes for me too... And I'd like to finish a CD, although that doesn't have to be a commercial CD, just enough songs, that fit together, on a home-printed CD
