According to this post found on Harmony Central, Dr. Robert A. Moog passed on today August 21, 2005 at about 2 PM eastern time.

Goodbye BOB and thank you for all you did for the music world. RIP.

Damn that sucks. I'm sure it was comforting to him to know that, in one respect, he made his impression upon the world. He'll be remembered by the great achievements and advances he made to the world of music, and he'll surely be remembered as a man who brought about a new era in an aspect of culture that is permenant, Music. You can't ask for more than that, to be remembered for something, and to be memorialized after you are gone.

i had to do a presentation on mr Moog's life a few months back, and learned a great deal about him in a short space of time. very sad news indeed. may he rest in peace.

this is so sAD. It makes me heart hurt.
I think I'll go listen to Pink Floyd, and some yes, and some 'Tomita' .
Yeah, help me get that deep down appreciaiton for this wonderful man.
....what a lose for our world, I will miss him.

I'm beginning to doubt the news now. Where in the hell did they find out about this? I cannot find anything on it AT ALL.

Not finding any official mention of it either, even on the Moog Music website.

i send my wishes to the family. this is very sad news for me. maybe it's all for the better? he wont have to suffer through months of agony now.
