I ordered this to be sent to a US mailing address and paid the same price. The site mentioned delivery would be slow outside Europe but didn't mention any additional charge.

I got mine a few weeks ago, sent to a US address, and it only took a little over a week. Very fine collection, lots of ways to use the sounds (as I'm finding). Doru, please know that there are many people sending good thoughts your way. As soon as I finish my current project I'll post a recording somewhere and do a review of the sounds...

Cheers,

envoy: Good to know -- thanks. Delivery times are usually stated conservatively, so that they'll cover the worst case. I often find that stuff promised to take "1-2 weeks" arrives in just a few days.

My disk made it all the way from Romania to Texas in 8 days. Unfortunately I may have a defective disk. I've tried it on a couple of different systems but I've been unable to copy the files over onto the hard drive. :(

Have you been using a DVD drive? It's not a CD.

Yeah I've tried 3 different DVD drives on two different computers. According to which drive I try, the results range from either flat-out refusing to even access the files on the DVD, to failing in the middle of installation. I've tried copying individual files too, but that hasn't worked either.

I'll give it one more try and see what happens. Given the low price, I hate to ask Doru to send me another copy unless absolutely necessary.

*nod* I know what you mean. Hope it works out for you, and for me too once mine arrives.

Same here. I even bought a new drive to load it, in case the one I had was getting flaky, but no go.

DVD data disks aren't burdened with the region code mess, are they?

Just so I'm not all megative, I bought the drum CD and it's working just fine. Lots of great sounds on it too. :)

egarrard: Ouch -- it never occurred to me that they might. Dunno, I rarely buy videos on DVD. (Or in any other form for that matter.)

I doubt that's the case really. The DVD doesn't even load at all.

Hm. Well, I'll trust Doru to make things right. He's a Good Guy with two capital Gs. :-)

Yeah. :-(

Pure speculation: Anyone know whether DVD-Rs or DVD+Rs are easily damaged by heat? Hereabouts it's been awfully hot lately.

no more so than cdrs id say
ie dont bake em,leave em on the window ledge or stacked on a radiator

as long as theyre safely packaged they should be ok,it may well be the dvd region thingamy,in which case mebbe US customers may need to buy it on 4 cdrs or so :?
i dunno tho,im sure Doru will and can work something out :)
