Apparently he was suffering from brain cancer.

A great innovator is gone.

:(

Immediately after posting this, I saw that it was already in the 'everything else' forum. Sorry for the repeat, it seemed to me that it should have gone in here. On reflection.....

Post

oh no, this has made me very sad. i don't really know what else to say :(

Post

I nearly cried. Actually I did a little, but it's hard to admit... What a great man. I hope it wasn't a painful death as he certainly didn't diserve it, that's what bothers me the most.

Very sad.

Rest in Peace, Mr. Moog.

A great innovator and a true pioneer.
He will be remembered through his inventions, just like Leo Fender.
I hate cancer. I really do.

You cant depend on a lot of things
You need a busload of faith to get by.

Post

I signed his guest card a while back when he was sick. That really makes me sad. What a pioneer. I wish I could write more than a third grade sentance right now but I don't feel I could do it justice.

May your soul find its peace from all troubles...

i wonder why this isn't on google news while that thing on hunter s. thompson's ashes is. i think in alot of ways (some of them indirect) bob moog might of had a bigger affect on our culture than thompson. not that thomspson doesn't deserve a news story mind you.

Post

There's absolutely nothing on BBC News about him either. One can take comfort in the fact that he will never, ever be forgotten. The Moog name will live on through his legacy.

Analogue or digital – which is better? There's only one way to find out... FI-I-IGHT!!!

I'm very sad and moved hearing about this! He's been a great man and he's truly become an immortal legend already during his lifetime. So his spirit has survived and we keep it alive.

Dear Bob, rest in peace!

Words seem pointless when a great person is lost. His memeory lives on in so much music, so many instruments and so many minds. Thanks Bob. RIP
