Just thought i'd share this outside the RMS forum...

XYZControl

Control 3 CC parameters at once with your mouse; control both the position of the ball and its size by using the mouse wheel whilst dragging it around.

Put it before a synth in a host that allows such routings. To aid with midi-learn functions, you can RIGHT-CLICK the CC selector controls to send a single midi message on that axis. The 'sens' control adjusts how sensitive the mousewheel response is.

The panel is resizable so you can have it take up the whole screen if you like. The controls are fully automatable too, so you can record your movements.

I hope you find it useful!

There may be one or two bugs, if so i apologise but let me know . I know that in energyXT it can get confused if you resize too quickly (closing the window and reopening it will cure any problems tho).

As soon as i can afford to get a mac all my plugins will be cross platform...

neat.
mention my name at any participating super-putt for a 15% discount!

incidentally, it only came about because someone asked for a mousewheel->cc plugin.. that plugin was a little limited so this is just a logical extension :)

I've not tried this yet, but mousewheel to cc is something I've wanted for ages.

Thankyou!

sorry guys, just fixed a ridiculous bug in it that meant incoming midi data wasn't getting passed thru! :dog:

the link is the same, just delete the original and replace it with this version. sorry about that!

Wonderful!

Any idea how to get this set up in FL Studio?

Post

just gave it a whirl and i have to say i've no idea.. doesn't look like flstudio is very capable when it comes to midi routing. my suggestion would be to load up an instance of something like energyXT or chainer inside flstudio, and just cable XYZControl before your chosen plugin. eXT in particular is good because the target plugin doesn't even need to have CC features, you can use eXT's build in CC map to match the parameters to the XYZController!

haydxn you rock!

you can use it in FL, you need to go to the menu on the top-left and change it to "show MIDI output port" and then set the port to a number (like 10) in the top-right of the plugin.

Then you set this same number (like 10) on the top-right corner of the plugin you wish to control.

Ok, that's helps a little. I was able to control some stuff with z3ta+ demo, cause I know that one has midi learn feature. But it was doing weird stuff as well, like changing around the mod. matrix. It also crashed FL. I don't really understand how to set up the midi learn feature, so it may have been my fault. Is there a way to use it on vst's that don't have a midi learn function? Say I wanted to use it on synth1 for example. I can always use the fruity XY, but I like the idea of controlling with the mouse wheel.

Nice plugin, thank you for this.

Just had a play and noticed (probably obviously) that it only works when the plug has focus. In FL, the Formula Generator can use Mouse X and Y as input, and this can then be linked to MIDI - this works all the time, even when the FG doesn't have focus, but the FG can't read the mouse wheel.

Don't suppose it's possible to get this functionality in your plug? Actually, thinking about it, don't worry - it's only 'cos I like to play synths with my qwerty kb!
