it's not really meant to be used in real-time during composition... it's a real heavy-hitter as far as cpu cycles. if you're computer is fast enough, you certainly can if you want, but it's meant to be used once you've already created your final mixdown stereo wave/aiff.

yeah i mean during mixing down stages...

it works fine, but it's too heavy on the cpu.

well i mean is it recommended usage to just pop it on the master bus, or would it be suggested to have it all working together per track?

Its a mastering plugin, but I say just use it where you think it sounds good.

heh yeah,

just havent really used "mastering" plugs per track and once i heard it was good for popping on vocal tracks as well as master, etc.

It's good for a lot of things, but it definatly is pretty heavy on CPU. I sometimes will render out my final mix to a wav, then load just the wav in my host and have it run through Ozone and play around a bit.

It has some very cool effects. I use Ozone often for accoustic guitars. It has all the effects chained and you can save it as a preset (eq, multiband, etc) and also I sometimes use the stereo imaging effect on guitars.

Other than that I always use it right in the end after I mixed everything on the main bus as a mastering effect.

Many complain about the cpu, and yes it is a bot heavier than many others, but on most computers today you shouuld be able to run about 4 of them at the same time as a guitar effect. If you do mastering, you should not need to run more than only one.

Ozone has the best noiseshaping algorithm availible, much better than UV22 for instance.

I use it for vocals with only the Eq Reverb and Maximiser turned on the other modules I leave off, I also use it on final mix to cd as it {version 3} has some pretty useful presets for mastering.

It is a very heavy cpu hitter in the reguard that if you have on all six mastering modules running it can be quite heavy, so use them seperately and freeze what you can then remix it to add infintum if you like, that way cpu hit is no problem.
