like travelling through a pitch-dark tunnel at horrifying speeds...but i can't keep from opening my eyes...glimpses of horrors screaming past...

yeh, those screams from 5:40 or thereabouts just about send me over the edge. great, gripping stuff :-o :hail:

Cheers for the harshnoise link; allready in my first quest I came about some interesting things. I'm always looking around, but with sooooo much on the market I get lost sometimes in it all and end up buying nothing.

Love what is happening here in the back, a story told in noise 8)

Thanks for listening Miro and Mark!

I replaced the original with a new mix from yesterday. Much better sound balance, should give a better idea.

Post

No, really, it IS better... :hihi:

I tried listening on earphones earlier at work, but was distracted and it just didn't seem appropriate. So I decided to wait to listen on speakers, but I'm mixing something at the moment, so I'll listen after that.

Long way of saying, Patience.

I did an a/b with the first mix, staggering the difference. Now this is what we wanted. Fantastic, the physical menace is in all the right places now.

Great new mix. It's different. Is it better? I'm not so sure. I liked the wall of noise in the first mix that made you strain to hear what was underneath. But the new mix is delightful as well. More enjoyable but not so uncompromising.

Hey: Maybe you should bill yourself as the Phil Spector of Modern Noise ;-)

This is really great, it's like being trapped in a subterranean tornado! I've gotta know, how was the bayonet used?

For bowing the edge of the grille at center. The railway spikes serve a similar purpose usually, though they sound good when simultaneously contact miked and scraped together too.

Thanks Voidoid!

Emporer's new clothes me thinks....I can hear about the same thing right now just outside my window, but I wouldn't call that music, or pleasant....Hmmmm Maybe I should record it for ya'll you'd prolly love it :hihi:

Ah well, to each their own, enjoi!

Post

You don't have to call it music, if the term shocks you.

Post

I give up..I couldn't touch this in a million years..

:tantrum: :bang: :tantrum:

Holy shit - this new mix punishes my ears in ways the old one did not! It turned up the SHPN factor to almost unbearable - which is really right where it belongs. I can't wait for this to get completed.

Now if you'll excuse me I have to get back to my christian-eurotrance producing.
