does anybody know of a plugin for mac that will extract vocals from a song??

inmpossilble...
unless you like to destroy the rest of the song; you can EQ it away, allong with the rest of the frequencies that do not belong to the vocals.
though odly enough, some software claims to have a vocal remover, it never removes vocals only.
