Nope...although I tried it, and it does come up with some useful patches..so you could be fooled!

However.....sometimes I take two patches I have created by scratch and use eXT's blend tool to make new patches,..but still require tweaking afterwards :-)

Hi,

I'd like to remind all who are going to contribute patches to send these at least til sunday morning August, 28th. Thanx!
All contributors will be named in the manual! A "Best of" selection of these will go into the internal presets and there will be three or four additional banks.
Wow, I did not expect such a great respond!

Some more details of the forthcoming version:
It will be possible to load wave-files within the registered version (loops supported) so you can switch between the internal osc. and wave file. (By now I'm not quite sure whether to have one wav-file load within the 2-voice free version?)
Mute buttons have been added to each osc. and the boost buttons have been replaced by knobs for more subtle settings.

(By now I'm not quite sure whether to have one wav-file load within the 2-voice free version?)

I think that would be a GREAT idea. :D

Well, knowing Tim as a longterm patch designer he has certain aims what sounds he wants to do within the range of each synth. Thus he is a lot quicker in doing the patch directly than waiting for a randomization providing a result quite near to what he wants.

In addition to this if You have a certain set of sounds in mind you know how to do these by setting the respective parameters. Only the peculiarities of each synth lead to some more or less finetweaking then.

Personally, I wouldn't. Your free version is excellent and if users can't see the added benefit of registering, than keep the jewels for those who do.

Your synths sell themselves.

Just my opinion.

We agree with DennisT. Your free versions are always top notch and give a perfect idea of the synth basic possibilities. Save the specials for the people who want to buy your great work. Your generous enough as it is.

Our 2 cents,

I think the general sentiment here is absolutely right - the free versions are great for getting a good understanding of what the architecture, design and implementation of the synth achieve (no audio drop outs, ability to save and load patches etc) but they always leave us wanting more :)

I know it's impossible to find this out, but I bet you have a higher conversion rate from users of the free version to purchasers of the full version than many developers do. I wouldn't put any more into the freebie version of Protoplasm - it's great as it is.

By the way - did you get the presets I sent you?

Regards,

Derek.

Thanx for that!

Yes, and I even collected these into an fxb last night but replying to your mail seems to have slipped though my attention - sorry for that ... but it is really busy here at the moment

The only problem I'm finding is do with patch-saving or patch-loading, in both Minihost and Logic. Haven't quite put my finger on what's happening, but sometimes you seem to need to load the fxp more than once to get the right patch. Still, understandable as it's in beta :D

Anyone else noticed a problem?
