If you could afford ONE hardware effects processor ($600 and under) that was versatile (and vital) enough for stage AND studio use, what would it be?

Ooops, I guess it costs a little bit more than just $600.00. Oh well, nevermind.

Probably. The Orville is a still a pretty cool processor and does feature pretty prominantly in his work. You do gotta hand it to someone making experimental music, like him, to achieve the amount of success that he's had. Who would of ever thought that there was a market for a dissaffected youth that wanted to listen to unlistenable music that could aid them in proving to their friends how cool and "alternative" they are. Same with Aphex Twin/Richard James, whos music I find equally unlistenable. They both do interesting stuff, from a sound design aspect, but I find it pretty hard to listen to other than out of curiousity. Either way... more power to them if they can make a living at it.

And have I mentioned that I swear by everything Modcan, Metasonix, and Synthesizers.com make? Because I do.

dont get me wrong, i think his work is amazing, just like richard d james, im just saying that he is a sponsor whore, unlike richard d james who doesnt even like to talk about what he uses.

The eventide things are nice. Sherman filterbank sound like it would be awesome but I've never heard it out of a mix (nor played with it).
I've been thinking about an Electrix Repeater Mk2 lately.

I'm a shameless metasonix fanboy and I've done several demos that appear on the metasonix page, so if theres anything that peaks your curiousity or you wanna hear some examples let me know!

I'm working on some audio demos of the Butt Probe over the next few days, showing that it CAN be used very capably in a "songlike" situation
